We decided to drop by as entry was included with the Copenhagen Card. It was semi-interesting, but the exhibits on display were a bit of an eclectic disconnected mix.

Wonderfully presented Danish design- so creative in the installations. Lovely cafe as well. So worth a visit!!

The definition of design is kept very widely: Everything is design and nothing, and that approach makes the exhibition unstructured, confusing, boring.
The only interesting part is the furniture design, but the exhibits are dusty and the descriptions have lack of information. This part needs an update or a change though. The rest is not worth a visit.

- die angepriesenen dänischen Einrichtungsgegenstände waren sehr dürftig

Much more than loads of chairs as it appeared in a DK eyewitness guide. Went as part of the Copenhagen Card. Many museums clustered nearby so can visit 4-5 in a day. Pretty building too.

Bellissimo museo che ripercorre la storia del design e la sua importanza nella cultura di un paese. Sono esposti numerosi pezzi, per lo più danesi ma non solo, e si spazia tra complementi d'arredo e tessili, con uno sguardo sui nuovi materiali. Mi è piaciuto molto anche l'esibizione temporanea. Interessante anche lo shop

Excellent , the exhibitions all had a unique character and something interesting to say. My favourite was they first exhibit on Greenland and the mining activity there. This was an accomplished analysis of the material culture of the mining operation and how this transects the spiritual traditions of Greenland .

Meine Erwartungen wurden nicht erfüllt. Nach 30 Minuten war ich ob der herrschenden Nicht-Struktur am Limit, dazu war es auch noch sehr voll. Habe trotzdem noch eine weitere gute Stunde dort verbracht und auch sehr schöne Exponate eher zufällig entdeckt. Empfehlenswert das Cafe.

An interesting museum built into an 18th century hospital. There are a wide variety of exhibits with those focusing on Danish design being of the most interest. We thoroughly enjoyed the displays of furniture from various periods - including the rather garish 1970s! - as well as ceramics and textiles. You can mill about for several hours of you wish or get a good understanding even with a one hour walk through. Time you visit for lunch in the outdoor garden terrace - the open face sandwiches are excellent. Admission is included with the Copenhagen Card.

Is the museum accessible for a person in a power wheelchair? Some photos show steps at the entrance, and some show a ramp over the steps.

I can't say for sure, but I bet it is. If the front entrance only has stairs there will likely be a side entrance. Because Denmark has a lot of old buildings, accessibility is lower than in the US, but on the whole, things are accessible.
Once you get inside, the exhibits are all on one floor, so it would be easy to get around.
