It made me think about what design is. The chair was designed for comfort and Scandinavian design was advanced. It was one of the good places to go.

The museum had some interesting exhibitions, but I think overall it would be more of interest for someone who is passionate of design, clothing patterns or who is working in this field. I liked the chiars exhibition and the one about future products and ideas.
If you are going to the museum from Amaliegade street there is a shortcut, under an arch, near building 31. It is a coblestone street. My GPS was a little bit confused around the area, so it was harder to find the entryway, but if you go from Bredgade street it should be easier.

What an interesting museum! Even if you know nothing about design - it doesn’t matter. I was fascinated by the little bottles of human emotions.. hard to explain… you need to see it. Lovely cafe too!

This museum wasn't for me. I found it very boring and random and didn't think it was worth the price. If you adore fashion and chairs then this museum is for you.

So much to watch and unfortunately so little time.
You can tell that the curators have gone to great lengths to draw a common thread throughout the museum.
Unfortunately, we had far too little time to read and record everything.
We will definitely visit it a second time.
Oh, here. The staff is very nice and very friendly.

We were in Copenhagen for a few days with friends and had an amazing experience at the Design Museum. Such innovative and wonderful exhibits. Definitely one of the must sees in Copenhagen

Interesting and unusual displays that focus on changes and developments in design over time. The theme “design” encompasses a broad spectrum: fabric and clothes, ceramics, glass, dining settings, chairs to name a few. The museum also features works from artists whose innovative designs have made an impact. We had to keep an open mind. Some displays were immediately interesting and fascinating to us. Others seemed to take experimentation too far. Sorry we didn’t have the chance to revisit and re-see some of the more confronting (to us) displays

Terrible experience. No idea what they are doing. Showing boring design you can basicallu buy in furniture stores all over the country. Might as well go and see the designs there.

Museums, museums.... and then there's the Design Museum. Fascinating, informative and thought provoking all in one and at a level and over a manageable area of size that allows a relaxing but full consideration of the exhibits without starting to think, are the rooms never coming to an end?! Very impressive all round, much enjoyed and gladly recommended.

Is the museum accessible for a person in a power wheelchair? Some photos show steps at the entrance, and some show a ramp over the steps.

I can't say for sure, but I bet it is. If the front entrance only has stairs there will likely be a side entrance. Because Denmark has a lot of old buildings, accessibility is lower than in the US, but on the whole, things are accessible.
Once you get inside, the exhibits are all on one floor, so it would be easy to get around.
