It is a beautiful view in Rovaniemi at any time of day. At night its lights are beautiful and we are fortunate to see the Aurora boreal with the naked eye in this place. During the day is a stunning view of the bridge with the frozen waters and the other bank all white!

Candle Bridge itself is just a normal bridge with candles lit up at the top.
But the frozen Kemijoki river and the white landscape around the bridge looks spectacular, and which is why you must visit here.
The best spot to view the bridge is from the road outside Scandic hotel.
During our visit in March, the river was entirely frozen, all we could see around was white landscape. You can walk alongside the river and spend sometime here, depending how much you will be able to tolerate the cold. You can watch entire video on our channel hiscamherbackpack.
Tip: If you walk alongside river for around 10 mins, on right side there is Angry Bird Park, it's the backside entrance of the park.

I remembered it with the frozen river and lots of snow. I saw it from the plane upon arrival and departure. A stone's throw from the center. In summer it is nice to cross it and walk in the park with the beaches. The riverside is pleasant on sunny days

We visited the city centre from the Santa Claus Village to pick up some winter clothes that we were renting, so we decided to spend the morning in Rovaniemi. There really isn't much to do here but visit the Arkitrum museum and take in the views of the Lumberjack Candle Bridge. Is it good? Sure. It's an impressive bridge, and it's worth a photo. I'm not sure what else to tell you about it.

We went to this bridge to celebrate new year as recommended by someone we met in the city. First we walk across the bridge to the other side of the river. Then we walk back to find a good position on the bridge to see the fireworks. Many people standing along the bridge. The fireworks was clearly visible from here.

Walked over this bridge dozens of times through the snow and enjoyed looking at it from different angles. Interesting design based on two chopped down trees. Traditionally woodcutters would work in winter, in long dark nights. They would lean a couple of felled trees together, cut a hole in top, pour oil and light them like candles to see. So the story goes. The bright lights on the bridge look just like this. When you know the story the bridge becomes more than just another bridge.

Wir waren auf unserer Hochzeitsreise in Finnland und auch an dieser Brücke. Zuvor sind wir das ein oder andere Mal darüber gefahren, da wir mit dem Mietwagen ohne km Begrenzung sehr viel unterwegs waren und dabei ist die Brücke mir nicht sonderlich spektakulär aufgefallen. Vom Ufer aus mit Nebel und Sonnenuntergang sah es dann aber schon anders aus. Wenn man in der Nähe ist, kann man dort für die Urlaubsfotosammlung ruhig Mal ein zwei Fotos schießen.
