Dieses Museum ist in der Nähe des grossherzoglichen Palais gelegen.
Im Moment gibt es eine sehr interessante temporäre Ausstellung dort "All you can eat/Der Mensch und seine Nahrung".
(6.10.23 bis 14.7.24)
Anhand von Beispielen aus Luxemburg und in historischer Perspektive beleuchtet die Ausstellung das Verhältnis zwischen dem Menschen und seiner Nahrung.
Öfters ansprechende temporäre Ausstellungen zusätzlich zum geschichtlichen Teil.
Tipp: Donnerstags von 18.00 bis 20.00 Uhr können Sie ohne Eintritt zu zahlen ins Museum (sonst auch nur 3/5 Euro für 1 Ticket).
Montags geschlossen, wie fast alle Museen in Luxemburg.

My wife and enjoyed this museum a great deal. It provides a very good history of Luxembourg on floors 0-3. They also had an interesting exhibition about posters on the 5th floor when we were there. It was much more interesting than I had anticipated. The 4th floor was closed, pending a new food-related exhibition, when we were there.
Highly recommended.

Un superbe musée qui permet de retracer toute l'histoire de la ville et du pays. Le musée est très bien fait et explique parfaitement bien. Très bien illustré par des pièces historiques bien choisies. N'hésitez pas à le visiter !

After a disappointing modern art tour we tried this museum
What a fantastic building holding interesting exhibits and the lift to the floors was the biggest I have ever seen
Capacity of 60!
We got concession tickets but would have been happy to pay full price
Over5 floors of exhibits I think we surely missed some exhibits there were so many to see
A must in my opinion
The reception guy was amazingly welcome and recommended us several other places to visit
All the staff were amazing

This is a great place to start an orientation to the city and history of Luxembourg. The format of the museum is very interesting starting at the lower levels inside fortress wall and going through a timeline around each floor and up to current times. There are relief models of the city in ancient and medieval times. The audio guide is good. The full room glass elevator that moves through the stone walls is very cool!

A great museum packed with information and a variety of displays. Brilliant value for money too. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Very good and well told history of Luxembourg and the capital city. Excellent value at just €5. Straddles 3 floors and chronologically takes you through time. All displays had French/German/English narrative. Poster exhibition on floor 5 was a bonus

Les trois étages inférieurs dédiés à l’histoire de la ville sont très intéressants. Les deux étages supérieurs un peu moins mais à 5€ la visite c’est très bien.

A very enlightening visit. The building is beautifully designed, making full use of the natural features. Very informative using a range of exhibits to demonstrate the full history of the city from earliest times to the present day in a fair and balanced way.
