Falta de informação levou-nos a ser multados 50€ por não utilizarmos máscara no comboio. Viemos de Portugal e não precisamos de utilizar máscara nem no aeroporto nem durante o voo, e mal chegamos a Viena e entramos no metro , apanhamos um multa de 50€ por pessoa!!! Nem sequer nos deram a possibilidade de sair do comboio. Somos turistas e nem no hotel nem no aeroporto, nem nos supermercados nem nos autocarros, nem no Uber ou táxi nos obrigaram a utilizar máscaras. Férias estragadas pela falta de hospitalidade da Wiener Linien.

Normal trams just as good ,same route

Although the Vienna Ring Tram is excellent if you're only in Vienna for a day or two and want to take in most of the beautiful architecture of the city but be aware that the normal extensive and excellent tram network plies the same routes and is much more frequent allowing you time to hope on and off depending on the type of travel pass you have such as a day pass unlimited travel or 48 hours ,72 hours or week pass ,no matter it's a great tram route to ride and most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Vienna.

Es gibt endgültig keine Vienna Ring tram in Wien mehr.

Die Vienna Ring tram exisitert nicht mehr.

Die beiden letzten gelben Züge mit den Nummern 4866 und 4867
wurden am 19. Januar 2023 "ausgemustert", wie man in Wien sagt.
Das bedeutet, die Vienna Ring tram wurde außer Dienst gestellt und
alle noch verbleibenden Züge werden dann wohl bald verschrottet.

The tram is very punctual. The interior is very clean. As it drives around the city, one can see the beautiful buildings. Price is reasonable. We recommend.

The Pink Christmas Tram

The pink Christmas tram is a tram that only runs during the Christmas season and all money collected from the fares goes to charity. Because they are collecting money for charity, everyone is charged, and they will not accept transportation passes. This is sponsored by a snack and cookie company called Manner and the tram is painted pink to match the packaging of their products. We scheduled our trip to Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna in early December in order to tour the Christmas Markets in each city. (PaM)

Ring tram is good trip to visit Vienna highlights. Trip 25 minutes, tram is quite old but clean, electric guide is informative.

Il giro sul Ring tram non è stato particolare come mi aspettavo, sì il tram è giallo ma non suona nulla. Parte da Schwedenplatz ed il giro dura circa 20'. Rientra nel Vienna Pass perciò siamo salite altrimenti per 9 € non ne vale la pena.
Stesso giro più o meno svolto con Hop on Hop off percorso rosso, sempre incluso nel Vienna Pass.

Quick Highlights of the Inter-city

This was our first trip to Vienna and, since we were only going to be there a couple of days, we rode the (yellow) RingTram to help us get oriented to the inner city. The (yellow) RingTram starts at the Schwedenplatz stop, which is accessible from the #1 and #4 metro lines, and ends back at the starting point after one circle loop around the famous Ringstrasse. The Ringstrasse is a wide boulevard that follows the route of the old demolished city walls. I have been told that in the past the tram was a Hop-On Hop-Off ride, but that it changed and no longer lets you get on/off at any of the tourist attractions during your loop. Although it didn’t have the Hop-On Hop-Off option, it was still enjoyable and allowed us to see many of the historical sights including the Opera, Parliament Building, Rathaus, Imperial Palace, Burgtheater, Volkstheater and Volksgarden. You can then decide which attractions you want to go back and visit individually. The complete loop takes about 30 minutes and has a video screen and audio guide that provides some interesting details and historic facts. The Yellow RingTram is not part of the normal metro transportation system so a separate ticket must be purchased to ride it. There is supposedly a Hop-On Hop-Off bus in Vienna, but it is prohibited from following the route of the Ringstrasse. (PaM)
