loved this experience! had a tutorial on how to drive the sleds, and then spent time driving them ourselves. we had a blast, and I would definitely do this again!

We did dog sledding and it was fenomenal. We were given a thermal suit, boots and socks, staff really nice and the most important thing - dogs were super happy and treated like kings.

I had booked a dog sledging tour near Tromso in February 2020. This tour includes a warm meal after the frosty tour. The dog sledging was very instersting but the meal afterwards is not suitable for vegetarians. Although I have booked a vegetarian meal and received a confirmation at the store there was no option available after the drive. The communication with Aurora Alps afterwards is still very unsatisfied and I have received no feedback after multiple reminders and several weeks of waiting. Therefore I can not recommend due to the bad service.

Did an evening sled ride with reindeer - absolutely dreadful treatment of animals, who were very distressed throughout. my partner and myself ended up getting off the sled partway through and walked the rest, as it was so upsetting. the reindeer hate this job and this particular company has poor quality sleds which had not been safety-checked for either passengers or the poor animals. within a couple of minutes of starting, ropes came loose, the long wooden struts of the sleds in a couple of cases ended up stuck under the reindeer, who couldn't loosen themselves - there were 7-8 sleds strung together, but so badly attached together that the poor animals kept bumping into each other and into the sleds - one actually fell down and the brute of a driver wanted to force him to continue pulling, despite he was holding one hoof off the ground, clearly hurt. there was no empathy from driver to the welfare of the animals - we were disgusted. we were quite a large party from a cruise ship - when we got back many people complained. i have received a letter from the cruise company (the very reputable SAGA company) who have investigated all the complaints and the video footage/photos provided to them, and the letter confirms to me that SAGA will never use this company in future. I have also made contact with an animal welfare organisation in Norway, as I'm sure most Norwegians would hate to know what's going on in their country. the date of my visit was saturday 22 february 2020.

We are appalled and terribly saddened to hear of your experiences; since these unfortunate events new management took over the company, we terminated our agreement with the previous supplier of our reindeer experience, and put a strict animal welfare policy in place according to the framework of the five domains of animal welfare: nutrition, environment, physical health, behavioral interactions and the effect of all the above on the mental health of the animals. We will not allow anything like this happen ever again.

The reindeer slight ride was very novel and great to see the reindeers up close and personal with lots of photo opportunities. We had very snowy weather but appropriate clothing was provided to keep us warm and dry!
More could have been added to the Sami culture to make it more interactive.

Waouw ... une promenade en traineaux de plus d'une heure trente en compagnie de 6 huskies des plus courageux.
Une étendue enneigée nous a rendu le parcours grandiose : il a neigé pendant toute la durée de l'excursion ... on se serait cru seul au monde.
J'ai eu la chance d'être le premier de la bande aussi ...
Comment ne pas évoquer les gros câlins échangés avec ces braves toutous à la fin de la promenade !!! GENIAL !

This venue was off the beaten track in the middle of snowy terrain surrounded by mountains. It was cold but sheltered. About 12 dogs per sled to pull 2-4 people, they clearly appeared to enjoy the run. The great outdoors it was, not suitable for those with back problems or limited leg movement due to the terrain and having to keep your knees bent and feet in.

I cannot recommend this activity enough. While we travelled to the activity venue using our own transport, the staff at Aurora Alps was super friendly and helpful in ensuring the experience was smooth and memorable.
The activity itself - dog sledding - is almost a must-do as as its a great experience and you get plenty of time to change drivers to allow every able adult in your group to actually experience driving the sled. Since the activity we did was in the evening we were lucky to get fantastic views of the northern lights. The Aurora Alps guide who was driving the lead sled provided accurate and clear instructions and also managed to spot the lights while sledding and had us stop to actually enjoy the lights. It was effectively a 2-in-1 activity seeing the lights while sledding.
They provide comfortable thermal weat (body suits, gloves, snow boots etc.) which you put on before the sledding starts and ensures you really enjoy the expereince rather than shivering through it.
The dogs themselves are wonderful and I felt bad for using the brakes on the sled often to keep them from really speeding up :-)
All in all a wonderful experience. If you want to see the lights do the evening experience, if you want to enjoy the scenery do the activity in the morning. Either ways do it, you wont regret it.

Cannot recommend this highly enough. Extremely good value for money. Collection and transfer good with guide giving some interesting information. We were part of a small group of 6 couples doing the activity so our mushing guide only had 3 sledges to look after. Sledding at night was really magical and at the end we were lucky the Aurora arrived. Great time with the dogs for a well earned fuss. Riding in the sledge is bumpy so dont expect to just lay there and do give the mushing a go so you get the full experience as it feels totally different driving it. Food was excellent and the equipment they loan out is really good condition with tripod on loan as well if the Aurora arrives. This was my 50th birthday so the trip was extra special. Thank you

The guides were nice and very helpful. I really appreciated the thermal wear they provided!! The dogs were excited and so much fun to love on. I also really enjoyed the soup that was provided as a vegetarian option. Kudos to this outfit for the best day of my vacation!!
