Vi hadde håpet på snø og kanefart, men uten snø var det vanskelig. Det ble likevel en flott start med bål og toddy på tunet. Vi fortsatte inne i peisestua med 28 gjester. Veldig fornøyd med både planlegging og gjennomføring av arrangementet. Ikke bare meg som var kjempefornøyd. Gjestene, både store og små storkoste seg. Takk

Kjempe koselig og hyggelig tur for både store og små. Det var velorganisert opplegg og rolig turleder. Hun var veldig flink med barna og rolig og samtidig autoritær.
Mange forskjellige dyr hadde de, og barna fikk lov å hilse på dem. Bål, gløgg og pepperkaker gjorde at turen ble ekstra hyggelig!

I'd been looking for a place near Oslo to go by horse drawn sleigh over the snow, during a weekend break, and found the farm's website by accident (http://www.sorbraten.no/).
I e-mailed and arranged a date and time.
The whole weekend in Oslo was great, but this was an amazing experience and shouldn't be missed (for young and old).
We (I, partner & 21 month old daughter) arrived to find our horse ready to be hitched up to an amazing looking sleigh, covered in furs.
The red farm buildings and surroundings were covered in snow - really great location and setting.
You could tell the horse was very well cared for.
We were given the option of the short or long trip (we took long). We spent 30 minutes being taken through a track in the woods, over snowy fields and down steep slopes - with the horse doing the hard work, whilst we stayed under the furs.
The driver gave some really intersting insights as we went around.
We returned a little chilly in the face, but exhilerated, to find a fire buring away outside, that we could warm by. Hot blackcurrant and snacks followed whilst we got some life back in our fingers.
We were then shown the animals they have in a barn (all looked very well looked after) which is normally for a local children's petting zoo, including a rescued house pig who was happy to trot about by our feet.
We then finished with sledging using huge inflatable rings, down a snowy slope, especially channelled out. A great feeling flying down the hill (but not so good hiking back up to the top!).
All of Oslo was great, but for something that's 20 minutes out of the city, more people should do this (not sure they advertsise that much?).
Summary / tips:
Book ahead, ideally when there would be snow.
Cost NOK 300 each (including kids/infants - i.e. not free)
Taxi takes 20 minutes from the city (cost about NOK 400 each way)
Maybe better if taxi waits for you (takes total 45-60 mins)
