En regnværsdag i bergen bør man ta turen hit, enten om man er lokal eller turist.
Et museum på 3 etasjer som har inkludert mye fra historien om og rundt Bergen fra tidlig 1000-tallet, om ikke enda tidligere.
Mange unike ting å se her som er godt ivaretatt og presentert. Man får virkelig opplevelsen av å reise tilbake i tid og se hvordan folkene som gikk i Bergens gater mange hundre år før oss levde dagene sine. Grunnmuren til hus for 1000 år siden og et skjelett er noen av mange utrolige ting som tilhører historien.
Virkelig en historisk vandring av de sjeldne som gir deg gåsehud dersom du har et hjerte for historie og et hjerte for Bergen.

This is a very nice museum with a lot of interesting history, archeology and artifacts. Especially informative and enlightening was the information and display regarding the many fires that have plagued this area and how this area keeps rebuilding.
This was a perfect way to spend time on a cold, rainy day.

I have visited this museum 5 years ago when I was on cruise tour with my family, Museum was renovated, but didn`t become more interesting for visitors. In my opinion - before renovation this museum was even better than now

We did not know what to expect here, and it's fair to say that our expectations were exceeded. The layout is inspired as you descend through time under the sea level. to explore the foundations of buildings long gone, and a host of artifacts recovered from centuries past. As in all the local museums we found the young staff engaging helpful and knowledgeable.

Right after Bryggen there’s this archaeological museum, which explains and shows how people used to live in Norway. Good explanations. Found it interesting, would definitely recommend.

Very interesting museum with a great narrative to the exhibits. Archaeological finds were engagingly presented. Nice staff!

This is a wonderful museum and deserves higher ratings. If you are interested in archaeology, you don't want to miss it. Very nicely designed.

It’s an interesting museum with an excellent football section and the opportunity to see the remains of historic buildings. The admission price is very high at roughly £15 per person.

Excellent museum! Modern, clean and everything was in both Norwegian and English. Staff were friendly, and they had free lockers to leave your bags in.
I wasn't really sure what to expect from the museum but had seen the good reviews on TripAdvisor. I was really glad we went as I found it very interesting. They had glass sections in the flooring so you could see what's underneath from the original Bryggen area. Also lots of artifacts from the time including sticks with runic writing on them which I found fascinating!
There was an upper floor with an exhibit (which I think was temporary?) but this was all about football so we didn't look around it. It looked interesting (and was interactive) if you have an interest in football though.

Thank you for your enquiry. The guided tour by foot is about 90 minutes. The starting point is Bryggens Museum, then it takes you from Bryggens Museum through Bryggen and into the Hanseatic Museum. The ticket can be purchased at Bryggens Museum NOK 150,- children u/16 free. The ticket gives you free entrance to Bryggens Museum, Schötstuene and Hanseatic Museum the same day.
