I have been coming here my whole life; my parents used to bring me as a child and I now bring my own children. There are some of the most gorgeous and rare trees, lovely open spaces and wildlife. I just wish they would do more with the facilities there, ie have the toilets and cafe open for longer.

surprisingly great park. from a nice lake, bowls club, band stands, cafes, football/ basketball courts and play parks to animal exhibits and historic russian cannons from the Crimean war, this park was surprisingly lovely and had 3x to do what other parks would offer. highly recommend for a walk out.

What do you expect?
Has a lot of money gone into it? Absolutely.
But it's still a den for anti-social behaviour, alcoholics and fly tipping.

Well cared for and well used park which has been well restored and is a good place for a walk and relaxation when visiting the town.

Nice park to have a walk run or skate around. I often visit here for my exercise.
Visited lots as a child and in my adult life . Lots to do whether you want to skateboard at the skate park ( teens) exercise equipment, play football on the huge field. Or take a picnic. Lovely rose garden in the summer. Great for a bite to eat at the cafe. Although a little expensive compared to another park in towns cafe. Has outdoor seating in the summer.
Often holds park runs and events. Not as many as years ago could do with bringing back National play day which they haven’t had for a good few years, they often have a fair and I hear the fireworks display is making a comebacks whether that is free like it used to be is another thing.
There is crazy golf but unsure if you need to bring your own equipment.
Bowling green to watch with benches all around.
Toilets on site but the floors never look clean and often have no paper towels.
Could do with some new sculptures as a few have rotten away over the years.
They have a few birds in the Avery and a play area for kids which could do with painting again.
Would be great if there were more decent events held here and maybe some additional play areas at the other side of the park like a woodland natural play area.
Parking isn’t good on a busy weekend or in school holidays so could do with an area for cars other than that it’s a lovely park and every time I go in I have a memory in most parts of the park each time I visit.

A lovely Victorian park where I spent much of my spare time as a child. Since those days, long ago, the park took a little dive but is now back to it former glory days. It has changed t fit in with current needs and now offers something for everyone. The café is also worth a visit.

Huge park with lots of facilities. The lake, however, needs urgent attention. It seems to have some form of oil slick on much of it and smells awful. Darlington County Council, clear it up before all the birds and waders die.

very nice to just relax and to see others walking around with the children and having a good time. Darlington is just lovely.

Amazing area. Even in the rain it was lovely. Huge areas to walk dogs, lovely river and really nice flowers and trees to relax and unwind. Quiet and peaceful.
