Popped over here last week to visit the Christmas shop & for a walk around the park. Firstly if you haven’t been before, there’s plenty of free parking, secondly the park is as always beautiful. We walked our usual route & ended up at the Christmas shop, where my wife purchased a tree decoration, which was very reasonably priced. When we visit stamford this is always one of our go to places & as I’ve already said , it’s free

+We walked from Stamford to the house which is currently closed. We went into the Orangery and had an excellent breakfast which was reasonably priced.

House is an exceptional historic museum. Guides very helpful and knowledgeable. Park very well kept with many deer. lovely trees

We have family that live near the park, and we always try to get in a stroll around it if we can. It is a beautiful park and has well laid out paths to take you around to the lakes, bridges and the house. There is normally a large herd of deer dotted around the park but we only saw sheep this time. Worth a visit to this majestic setting

Beautiful grounds and gardens with plenty of places to walk around and admire the house and lake. The gardens had some very interesting features and were worth a fee to enter. The garden cafe delivered strong and tasty coffees. The house was closed on the day we visited - a friday.
My only comment would be that the prices for garden entrance, coffee etc. were on the high side but to keep the estate going must be a financial challenge.

The Garden cafe is a disaster despite being listed as having soup there was none.The Latte was so weak you couldn't taste the coffee there was nothing else to eat but a piece of chocolate cake and a dry white roll fullof preservatives and some tasteless cheese I setled for some lemonade and was charged over 13 pounds The staff were not in the least apologetic and our day out was ruined.We should have walked out!

Sadly the house was not open the day we could visit, however, the Gardens of Surprise are well worth a visit and walking around the parkland into Stamford was easy.

Visited the house and grounds during a stay in Stamford and was thoroughly pleased with our experience.The house is a feast for the eyes and staff super helpful. The sculpture garden and ice cream hut is not to be missed especially for kids! The only negative was there is no Senior Concession, come on we are the big spenders1

Interesting historical house with beautifully maintained gardens. Something for everyone including refreshments in the garden cafe or orangery, a sculpture garden and a mirror maze.
