Such an incredibly fun day on the canal boat. Mick helped get us situated and was definitely very knowledgeable about the boat and the canals. It was a great time operating the locks and navigating through the canal. Enjoyed all of the beautiful scenery. The boat itself was comfortable and clean. If I could give my experience an additional star, I would.

We had a delightful day out on the ‘Comet’. We chugged south for a couple of hours in sunshine and a short shower. The countryside was in full springtime glory complete with our own picnic lunch. A pub is available if needed. Mick explained everything and we didn’t hit anything on the way down and back. A really enjoyable experience, I can thoroughly recommend.

A lovely day trip skippered by Rick who was helpful and knowledgeable. We stopped at the Pig Place for bacon sandwiches and it was great being able to take the dogs with us too!

What a delightful experience -like no other!
Collin gave us sufficient directions for the boat and locks and we were on our way. It was relaxing, scenic, cozy - all the things one hopes for on holiday.
If we return to this area, we will absolutely do it again, possibly overnight.
Highly recommend for any family.

Great day out with our adult children and partners
Easy to book online.
Plenty of facilities and a good tutorial beforehand.
We were lucky with the weather and got the hang of the boat fairly quickly.

Spent a week on the south Oxford Canal on Chieftain in the end of August... A big boat with lots of space and a well equipped kitchen... It was a beautiful stretch of the canal from Twyford to Thrupp, very peaceful, very chilled 🙂

This is the second time we have hired the Comet for a lovely slow day on the canal. A great way to spend time with family and the narrowboat is so well appointed. Everything you could need and clean. We'll definitely do this again soon.

Hiring a longboat has been on the bucket list for a long time. We had the best day cruising down the canal and working the vintage locks with each one being so unique. Had a chat to local longboat owners as we met up at the locks. We stopped off at the Great Western Arms at Ahyno for a roast which was beautiful. The slower we went the more fun we had. Cannot speak more highly of Mick who ran us through how the houseboat and locks work. Great boat and magic location. Next trip will be a multi day hire so we can really chill! A living history of the UK.
