wonderful experience! we did the 9 hr trip which took us around 2 1/2 hrs effortlessly. great location, tranquil and delightful. staff were friendly and helpful, the minibus driver gave us a great introduction to the area. bit cheeky adding on £2.50 for the launch site fee, this should be included in the overall price! otherwise a great day out thank you. looking for lunch after, the pubs on the riverside are rather expensive so we went up the road to the New Inn Shortstanding which was delicious and more reasonably priced!

Perfect for the soul

Amazing 1/2 day on the Wye. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The river is magical, the scenery and wildlife just beautiful. Was one of the most serene and perfect 3 hours I have ever spent. Can't recommend it enough, your inner self will thank you for it.

Lovely morning adventure

Fab experience for a couple and small dog! Staff were so friendly, reassuring and knowledgeable. Such a fun morning. Our little dog was happy sitting in the middle of the canoe with a bit of wobbly pottering between us both without any catastrophes!

We completed the 9 mile course in 2 hours 15 mins after being slightly worried from other reviews that we would run out of time. For a reasonably(ish) fit couple in our late 20's, the pace was absolutely lovely. Just a nice continuous pace.

Recommend to anyone looking for some fun, exploration and some lovely photo opportunities too!

Perfect activity to take in the beauty of the Wye Valley. We picked the 3 hour trip from Kerne bridge to Symonds Yat and it was well organised, and a beautiful stretch of river to explore. The staff are friendly and helpful and made sure we felt safe and prepared. Would highly recommend.

Great day out

This is really a beautiful day out - 4 hours on the River Wye a stunning experience. You have to accept that you might go in and one of our party did and the wonderful James came and saved them! Two bits of advice - it is hard work so make sure you have eaten before hand and wear gloves otherwise you might get blisters.

Great place to wobble on the river.

My wife and I booked this as an activity whilst staying at the near by Forest Holiday cabins. We met our instructor/guide Harvey first thing in the morning and he was great. Laid back, funny and really great to talk too.

My wife and I are complete novices but we had no issues and wobbled our way up and down the river. Which is in a superb setting. We were lucky enough to have a Royal Navy Wildcat fly around 100 feet above us on the river.

Harvey was a great chap and is full of facts and was fun to chat too. If you also like motorcycles.. get him to do his big bike licence and remind him there are lots of bikes to try.

On only one note.. bring change for the parking as sometimes the wifi goes down for the card payment.

Second time just as good!

Second time on the Wye with Wyedean this summer. Another beautiful trip this time with my girlfriend. Harvey did a really great bit of teaching before we departed and, like last time, everyone was really polite and cheerful. All the canoe centres around the Wye are good but Wyedean is the best due to the location (pub and places to sit) and because they have staff to help you in and out of the canoe. This is the most difficult part for less experienced people or people with mobility issues. At some centres, you have to get out in some tricky places but at Wyedean there’s someone to help.
Thanks; I’m staying at the Saracens Head late November and would canoe again but probably be shut but will check 👍

Scouts have a great day kayaking and raft building

Thirteen Scout had a brilliant day with Wyedean at Symmonds Yat, kayaking in the morning and raft building in the afternoon.

The instructors were brilliant and really gave the Scouts a great day out while teaching them new skills.

Despite the rain, they all enjoyed themselves and we will be returning next time we are in the area.

Stand Up Paddle Board Lesson

We have wanted to have a go at SUP (down with the kids) for a while before we bought one. We decided to have a lesson and chose Wyedean. What a great afternoon being shown the ropes by Hugh, we left feeling we had learnt the basics well. If Paddle boarding isn’t for you there are canoes and kayak’s great family day out.
