Good value for money, relaxing meander down the Wye, captain kept us informed on points of interest but also allowed us to take in the breath taking scenery

This is definitely worth doing. Lovely cruise on the River Wye. Even saw a kingfisher. The boat is clean and mostly inside if raining. You can even have a brew on board.

I did as suggested by previous reviewers to ring beforehand to check if cruises were running that day. I rang at about 9.30 and was told that they were running at 10.45, 11.45, 2.00 pm and 3pm. So my husband and I did a trip to Dean Heritage Centre (excellent) and arrived just about 2pm and paid £5 to park. We heard the skipper call for passengers for the 2pm cruise, but we didn’t want to get that boat as we wanted to get something to eat from the pub first. So we ordered and sat down and then noticed that the boat hadn’t left, so assumed there were no passengers for that trip. We thought no more about it, ate our lunch then made our way to the jetty, but there was no sign of him so I telephoned him to ask when he was boarding. He said he wasn’t as he had packed up for the day at just turned 2pm! Why he didn’t state that he was finishing then I have no idea. I said to him that I had phoned, but he was adamant he wasn’t doing this cruise, despite him telling me he was and us negotiating a very narrow winding lane (with lots of reversing involved) and paying £5. Plus overpriced food and drink at the pub.

We went on the last boat trip of the day, with only a few other people on the boat. This meant that we could choose wherever we wanted to sit. The skipper was very informative and chatty, even though he had done many 100s of commentaries before. We enjoyed a soft drink on bord during our trip. The skipper said that someone had seen a kingfisher on the previous trip. We were a bit sceptical, but we did get to see one !!

Fairly standard 40 minute trip up & down the Wye. The sort of touristy thing you do the once because you are there, and unlikely to return. We were glad we did it. The running commentary was rather good. Especially considering it was the last one of the day, and very few people on board.
Tea & coffee + some cold drinks available on board. No toilet. Most of the seats are inside. (Or take a drink from the Saracen's Head)

A nice relaxing 40 minute trip along the river with an interesting commentary from the captain, we even spotted a Kingfisher along the riverbank!

Very pleasant trip along the Wye. Knowledgable commentary by the captain. It’s a lovely way to experience the river and enjoy the scenery from a different perspective. Comfortable boat which even had snacks and drinks served to your seat!

We had a great cruise. Really interesting and informative commentary while we went up the river a short distance and back. Tea/coffee/soft drinks available along with a few snack. We didn't see any kingfishers this time but it was nice seeing all the other people enjoying the river. Also good facilities where the trip started from.

Did Kingfisher Cruise today, lovely not busy just two couples and their trusty dogs, weather could have been better, "captain" very informative told history of the river, fishing rites, size of fish caught and who caught them, pieceful, tranquil, experience.

Hi,
The day my wife and I was there they helped a disabled lady on and parked her collapsible wheelchair with her re-ensconced near the front of the boat. Probably best to phone ahead so that they have the staff available as access is not wheelchair friendly. Also our boat was only 80% full so there was room. It would probably be impossible on a full boat.
