Absolutely love Shanklin beach, one of the best on the island! Lots of pubs, restaurants and cafes nearby and it is always really clean! It is only dog friendly at certain times of the year though which is annoying!

Although out of season we enjoyed the beach area where it was clear improvements have been made in the last few years and found the whole promenade clean and tidy which is often not the case elsewhere. Recommended.

Sun rise photography

Off season is a great time for photography with less people around. I stayed near the beach and took many photos. The weather wasn't perfect for sun rise photos but the people around were friendly and happy to join in with their phones.

Only went here to see the Shankin Chine……closed, but no site bothered to note this.

Waste of time at this time of year. Most things closed. Esplanade is nice, but not worth the trip if you have seen the ocean before.

Not great, other better beaches on the Island

It's a beach, there are other better beaches to visit on the Isle of wight and even fossils didn't save it.

Lovely clean beach, great for families. Loads to do there too. Amusement arcade, crazy golf, indoor & outside. Great places to eat

Lots of Fun for all the family

Brilliant fun for all the family, not that expensive considering the amount of holes and fun you will have.
It's a well crafted crazy golf course which will test you all the way, no matter how good a golfer you are.
It's definitely for all ages and there is plenty to keep you occupied.
Good selection of cafes around you , ample coffee , ice-cream & fish and chips places to select from .
Add it to your list of things to do.
Shanklin Beach is an excellent start to many lovely walks , so get a map or google walks in the area and you will be surprised what amazing hidden gems you can find just off the beaten track .

lovely beach

very nice beach we had devon cream tea here again waitress was very efficent & friendly in the restaurant called aqua towards the end of the beach we sat on elevated space outside in beautiful weather we visited again the next day as we liked it so much & i had another cream tea my wife opted for a glass of wine & a tuna sandwich which also came with chips !
