Walked in this bar last week and ordered a cider, whilst we are talking at the bar a person in my party says something that doesn't go down well with one of the local small time criminals that regularly frequent this joint.
We are trying to defuse the situation when all of a sudden I get sucker punched from behind by the landlord who is obviously friends with the aforementioned small time goons.
When questioned, the landlord said: 'I don't know why I did it, I had 3 bottles of vodka and I can't remember anything'...
But MOST IMPORTANTLY the pint of cider I was served was near to flat, very disappointing...
So in a nutshell, if you like cheap thrills and flat cider this is the place to be in Ilfracombe. But BE WARNED always watch your back for the landlord..
Terrible, avoid this place with passion..

Biggest chunks O Chicken I ever had a tad spcicy for me my guts will be paying for it later, whooo mercy, stuffed to the brim.
Huge sandwich too my other half had she wanted chips she was full after the sandwich!!!!

Had the Thai Buffet and it was amazing!
Traditional cooked food, nothing frozen (as assured by the chef!) and arrived quickly!!
Lovely service, even though it was quiet and lacked a bit of atmosphere in the restaurant , but that can easily be forgiven because of the amazing food!
Will come again.

We dived in here to avoid the school kids, leaving school. Friendly welcome and nice pint. We sat in the window watching the world go by.

Went here for much needed protein following the completion of a coast to coast cycle ride over a weekend in March. Having cycled over 70 miles on the second day to arrive in Ilfracombe I had depleted my energy reserves and was desperately craving protein. My husband googled where we could find a good steak and came up with the Lamb. We walked into town and found it. We were sceptical at first as when we arrived there were only a handful of people at the bar and the restaurant upstairs was empty, however, I was exhausted and decided we would stay and try it. I am so glad that we did as the food and friendliness far outweighed our initial reservations. The owners were friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic. There was a full range of steak types and sizes to choose from and the owner advised that she recommends sharing a starter in order to do the steak justice, she was so right. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were fabulous. The food was beautifully presented and portion sizes looked generous but in fact even in my ravenous state I was still not able to do justice to it. I can't believe that this place was so quiet on a Saturday night it certainly doesn't deserve to be. If you're looking for a good steak menu this is definitely the place to go (btw they did have other options too for those not wanting steak) I would highly recommend it.

Took my son and his girlfriend out for lunch to the lamb on Sunday , the portions were huge and the meat was suculant and tender would deffiney recommend a visit .

Went with my other half and bets m8 for dinner as a late b-day meal had the lamb and chicken kebab and chips basic small but damn filled us up not small as in portion size but several chunks of meat and home made chips.
The drimnks were flat c'mon now £1.69p coke from the bottle that was flat and the tribute was flatalso was the only let down.
I could not be bothered to complain i was in such a good mood.
