Me and my sister attended the day of the dead festival at Southport pleasureland on the 3rd November 2023. To say I am disappointed is an understatement, half the acts advertised did not perform, and its organization was none existent. When I have mentioned this to Southport pleasureland they have deleted my comment and even gone as far as to block my account on facebook. My sister emailed them in regards to the event and is yet to get a response from them. Absolute joke and pathetic to block somebody who was a paying customer for not being happy with the product they received.

Day of the dead festival is not worth the money, it is a dead full show and they charge £10 to park on top of an expensive ticket.
Do not waste your time coming here

No organisation
Staff have no clue
Caterers unprepared
Various rides closed

For anyone thinking about going to the Day of the Dead festival at Southport Pleasureland… don’t.

I went last year and it was terrible. We paid £50 for two tickets and arrived at 5pm to massive queues. Once in it became clear that the event had been massively oversold, it was far too busy. Half the park was also closed. Queues for every ride and stall were ridiculous, but after managing to get one overpriced beer we went and queued for the Ghost Train. For nearly two hours.

By the time we got to the front we were too irritated to even enjoy the ride, even if it had been good. It was shocking, and not in a good way! Absolute joke of a Ghost Train, nothing moves or jumps out, just a few embarrassingly bad halloween decorations and at the end a kid in a mask shouting BOO 😐

At this point it was now about 8pm. We tried to queue for the Waltzers but we were told by one very rude staff member that ALL rides were now closing. They had advertised that all rides were open all night long and the event hadn’t finished yet, so that was a lie. We walked around a bit and saw absolutely no entertainment, nobody walking round dressed up as advertised, and no Day of the Dead themes or decorations what so ever.

We managed one rubbish ride for £50, as you can imagine we were feeling rather ripped off! We could have gone to Alton Towers for not much more.
We weren’t the only ones upset, lots of angry families leaving early and not even staying for the fireworks, which were awful by the way.

Obviously Pleasureland are making a fortune from this three day event every year due to how busy it was. It’s their way of raking in as much money as possible before the park closes for the winter, and they don’t give a damn about overselling or the customer’s experience once they have your money. Quite sad really, as families would have spent a lot of money to have fun at this event only to be disappointed.
Pleasureland, you should be ashamed!

The place I will be reviewing is Southport Pleasure Land
There are rides for you to go on my like SNOW JET. You go quite fast next there is CHAOS. it goes super high but it’s worth it to see a smile on your face. Next is my favourite one REMIX. first you start to spin slowly then you start to go higher and higher then you start to spin more faster then you start to lean out then goes even faster and faster. There are other rides as wells things for the little ones. If your hungry there are food stands to.
The pleasure Land it was so fun! I loved it.
I definitely recommend it! 5 stars.

Last weekend myself, husband, daughter and parents attempted to visit Southport Pleasureland.
There has been no communication from Southport Pleasureland to inform customers that there would be an air show on Saturday 9th September at the adjacent beach and that this would impact greatly on access to Southport Pleasureland and parking.
When booking my family’s tickets there was no information on the website to inform customers of the nearby event and the impact this would have on access to Southport Pleasureland and parking. Also there was no information on the confirmation email to warn customers of the issue.
The confirmation email suggested booking parking in advance, this I tried to do however the website said there was an error. So we decided to park as we normally would on the Esplanade Car Park and Ride Southport however access to this was closed from Victoria Way roundabout.

We did eventually manage to park on Esplanade Car Park and Ride as a parking attendant took pity on us and allowed us to pay to park there despite this being meant just for the air show customers. Again this was not communicated to Pleasureland customers that they would not be able to park on Esplanade Car Park and Ride. My parents (including my disabled mother) who had come in a separate car were not so fortunate and their car did not move for 30 minutes on Victoria Way. Due to my mum’s health she was unable to stay in the car any longer and they had to divert to Morrisons car park where they could eat and rest. They then unfortunately had to go home missing out on our family day out for my birthday.

Whilst waiting for my parents we heard a parking attendant informing people that the Esplanade Car Park and Ride would not open until all of the other car parks had been filled, however people were stating that they had indeed been to the other car parks and they were full. This caused gridlock around the roads to access Pleasureland.

After all of the chaos of the access and parking what would have been a 90 minute journey was actually 2hrs 30 minutes with and hour of this queuing only 5 miles away from Pleasureland. Then the addition of another hour waiting for my parents to access parking. This meant we did not access the park until 1pm meaning we had missed 2 hours of ride time.

I contacted Southport Pleasureland to explain my disappointment at the lack of communication about the clash of events and impact on access and parking and requested appropriate compensation. I received a response offering “complimentary revisit to us we would welcome you back either next weekend or the weekend after before we close from 24th September 2023.” I requested that this could be extended to the next season and was told it could not (still do not understand why). I then asked for a partial refund for the time missed in the park due to the miscommunication. I was told “A partial refund cannot be given. 
As stated in our previous email, we can off you like for like complimentary car parking and wristbands, but it would need to be for a date before 24th September.”

Therefore we will not be visiting Southport Pleasureland again.

Great day ,such a shame all other stalls are so expensive, you can tell this just by walking round ,no-one on the games you have 2 pay for
Silly prices
6 pound for hook a duck???
But the price for the wrist band we thought was excellent

1st September last Friday of school holidays
What a disappointment
2 off children rides broke down. While waiting to go on.
Most of the adult rides closed.
3/4 food outlets closed
Staff extremely unhappy and unhelpful
Toilets mmm grotty.
Staff pretending to clean.
Even the lady produces was not working.

We made the most for it so the grandchildren could have a nice day.
Won't be rushing back any time soon

My sister and I came here for the children to have some fun as they were all leaving to return to London the next day. There was an hour left of the day. My sister went to the ticket booths to purchase tickets for her 3 children, and at that point she was stung by a wasp! We made several phone calls for help including my husband, my sister and my friend (who is a medical person), as there was no one there to help, even though the lady in the ticket booth saw what had happened. After a while another employee on walking by saw this and went to get an ice pack for her. By this time there was only 15 minutes left allowing only one ride to go. I purchased one ticket only for my nephew for the full end of day price of £15, after my niece told me to not get one for her as she thought it was not worth it. Luckily, the man running one of the rides for the younger ones saw what happened and allowed my younger niece who is autistic to ride for free. I had asked ticket manager if it was possible to sell me 2 tickets for half price seeing as she saw all the events but she said no. After a long conversation, leaving us practically with 5 minutes left to go on a ride, she agreed to send me a voucher ticket but failed to tell me it has an expiry date in less than a month! After I asked about expiry date, I then asked for a refund. She took the last 4 digits of my card saying she would refund me the next day after I emailed them. I emailed twice, there was no reply or acknowledgment that they’ve received an email. I then went there again to speak to management/employees a few days later, after my family had gone, i spoke with someone there but still a dead end. I still have not received a refund or a reply to my email. Not one person has called to even find out if my sister is ok or if she had a reaction afterwards as I left all my details there for them to contact me. I will not be taking my family to Southport Pleasureland again when they visit. I do not recommend it. And most of the times I’ve been, most of the rides are not working or it’s closed when it should be open. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a theme park. In actual fact I wouldn’t describe this establishment as a theme park at all.

Having been to the Pleasureland regularly over the last few years we booked tickets for myself, wife and 9 year old daughter and i must say this could be the last time for us, it was very expensive for what it is, plenty of rides not open
£5 for a go on hook a duck, absolute rip off

WOULD I GO AGAIN......not sure, would need a lot more rides to entice us back
