What an absolutely fantastic night watching the fireworks. It was very well organised and the fact that you have a seat to sit and watch the show is a major plus. The music to accompany the fireworks makes the experience so enjoyable we didn’t want it to end. Leaving the site was well organised and easy too.

This is a fantastic outdoor spectacular not to be missed. For start to finish you are spellbound by the magic of the show. Been three times now and it just gets better each time would recommend this outdoor show but be aware of inclement weather

I had been very keen to visit Kynren for an absolute age.... my husband not so much. however once he had been persuaded ( eventually) he was truly spellbound by the whole thing and can't wait to return ! Everything was pretty much perfect from the cheery greeting from the wonderful volunteers, the abundance of food and drink outlets to the superb beautifully maintained toilets ( always a big plus). The show itself was absolutely breathtaking unlike anything we've ever seen really spectacular well worth traveling up from the Cotswolds for.... however I do have one problem that I do feel needs highlighting exiting the stands after the event. The stands are quite poorly lit and there is no help to negotiate the steps on the way out. I was jostled on the way out and had quite a nasty fall and saw many others struggling badly . perhaps a better way would be to let out a few rows at a time rather than the ever man for himself approach. Apart from that one criticism Kynren was all we had hoped for and so much more we can thoroughly recommend.

We visited again as a family group and chose deluxe seating nearest to the old house. The show as always was amazing and we all loved it. We purchased car park and shuttle bus tickets when we booked our seats as a bundle. The seats had a good view of everything but they are awful. I took a cushion for us but there is no leg room at all and my husband was sitting sideways to fit in. VIP seating is a bit too pricey when you have a family group and maybe the seating problem should be looked at in the future. Very pleased to see the food is now affordable and still tasty. All round great show. A must if you want to see something exciting and different!

Thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular show.very well organized to and from car parks via shuttle buses.we had VIP seats which were padded the only downside was lack of leg room.

The 90 mins went in the blink of an eye, it was such an engaging show. It is such a magical thing watching history come to life. Im no history exoert but was able to understand. I dont know of anywhere in the UK which offers such an immersive experience as this, it was almost like a dream about time travelling. The music/pyros/props were a masterpeice verging on impossible. Brutain and especially Durham / Northumbria have such rich history we are quite ignorant to ignore it.
Wouod be excellent educational visit for children.
For those travelling, why not make a weekend of it, i would recommend Durham city, Middleton in Teessdale or Barnard Castle as special places tovstay.

Went to see the final show on 9 September and it was absolutely stunning! The 90 minutes just fly by as there is so much to see. The whole experience from arriving on site to leaving was superb and so well organised. It really is just beautiful to watch - fantastic - five stars!!

The show itself was absolutely wonderful, special effects, stunts and fireworks added to the great storytelling of the history of the north east. Not quite sure how the legendary King Arthur fitted in as it's not actual history. The setting is beautiful. So all of that was very special and much enjoyed.
However, the one of the down sides was the seating, I sat between 2 average sized men and felt like the meat in a sandwich, squashed and very uncomfortable, my bottom has yet to recover. Other negatives were the drink and food arrangements, massive queues, slow, service, closing early and credit card only payments. So many venues do this so much better with smaller and more numerous kiosks and an assortment of food vans. They really need to look and other venues to improve and update especially as the do not allow you to take your own food and drink inside.So no food for me even though the show was an hour from starting, and a long wait for a canned drink. Water station are advertised but not evident, people filled water bottles from taps in the toilet, poor show. Shop tiny and packed with people too much for me. Need to review for 2024.
A long announcement about a tapestry receded the show, very poor English and boring. No reminder not to take photos with mobile phone and this disturbed the show many times as did people going to the toilet and kids standing up. Never seen so much disturbance in a show of less than 2hours.
So great theatre extremely poor venue and facilities management.

Hi how long would it take to walk from Manor Housr
hotel to Kynren? Also is it an easy walk?

No much too far to walk. Previous answer sounds better although we parked in one of the event car parks and caught a shuttle bus. It was rather a drawn out process but our best options as I cannot walk very far.
Can I drop off my elderly mother (with scooter) and another person and then go and park in the booked car park (not blue badge)?

I am not sure on that. There were cars right down by the entrance. Maybe disabled, blue badge? Might be best to ring them.

It's hard to to say where to sit I was around centre great view but did struggle to see a path that they use until they close. I would advise you the type of seat you will be using. Standard plain plastic school seat and vip is the same but a little bit padding. Remember you are sitting around 2 hours

Is it possible to walk from Escomb to the Kinren site? If so, what is the route and approximately how long will it take?

I would not recommend walking, especially as it is fully dark when the show ends. If you go to the Kynren website (11 Arches) you will see all the 2022 options clearly laid out and these will probably be the same for 2023. I personally recommend their park and ride scheme as it was exceptionally well organised.

We're going to this on 13/08/22 and have just received an event information email saying if we want parking we have to book it in advance. The problem is we booked the event 6 months ago, and now we're being told we can only book parking at the same time as booking for the event. So is there anything we can do? Kynren are not responding to my emails and it's now only 2 days away. Is there anywhere in town to park on the night?
