It's a pretty decent beach, but filled with boats waiting for people to go to Pig Island. I only went to this beach for the tour too. Has some nice displays outside to take pics like boats and a watch tower. There's a bar there as well. You have to pay 10/20 baht to use the toilet though. Best part is that the bar has a bulldog that likes pushing a football with its head the entire day, a pretty kitten, and a goat that that bites everything. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go all the way down just for it though.

Fisherman village facing the island , very charming spot , calm peaceful , where you can relax , have a drink or lunch far from the tourists crowds ! You may also rent a long tail boat and visit the two main islands , fantastic mangroves in koh tan ... pristine sandy beach with nobody in the other one .

It's more of a location for getting long tail boats to Koh Mudsum, Koh Tan, or Kharnom on the mainland to perhaps see the pink dolphins ....(normally for the mainland trip it should be per-arranged). There are a number of tour operators providing services.
The are some nice restaurants along that stretch of coast... it is a pleasant place to stop for lunch or a drink and take in the views.

We hired a car to do a circle drive of island, armed with an excellent map we set out, first driving north then north east. I had taken the time prior to leaving home of having a lot of options on such a drive to experience the good restaurants and beaches along the way, looked great on paper but in reality, didnt happen. The signs for turnoffs were AT THE ACTUAL TURNOFF, no giving us a kilometre or so to get ready, so with the traffic hot on our tails, the majority of time we just got pushed right past, and turning around was nigh on impossible. We did eventually arrive at THONG KRUT beach where we hoped to find the NUCH'S GREEN TALAM RESTAURANT to have lunch, very well written up on TripAdvisor, BUT like so many restaurants on Ko Samui, they do not open until round 3pm or later. SO directly opposite was a family style Thai restaurant filled with people from all over the world, with very good local fare Thai Food. It had no name from what I could see, but directly opposite Nuch's on the beach. The beach is supposed to be one of the better ones on Ko Samui, it was fine, but not spectacular. Driving on about 150 mtrs on the left after lunch we came across lady selling coconuts for 20 Baht, a bargain in Thailand, which in general we found very expensive.

Allthough, you could enter the sea there, there are surely better places to be when you‘re looking for a nice beach. However, the restaurants and bars are great! Not very touristy, quiet and romantic. So if you go there, visit the beach for lunch or dinner. For swimming, drive a few miles more.

Very quiet and remote and very little to do on Thong Krut Beach, the beach is not suitable for swimming as it is shallow and mostly crushed coral so you will need footwear to walk along the shore. Longtail boat tours depart from the beach daily. We stayed at The Beach and located next door is Boy's Coffee, the best coffee you will find anywhere on Samui and opens at 9 am, we ate breakfast daily at KT tours located next door as well and opens at 7am. Plenty of restaurants to eat at for dinner and the ones we dined at were all excellent.

Dead coral everywhere, thongs or shoes are required to walk to the water.The depth of the water is approx 300mm (12 inches) for approx 200 mtrs from the shore with rotting timber, garbage and dead coral all over. Near the township there are long boats and speedboats for the tourists so the water has a smell diesel andis unappealing

La plage de Thong Krut n'à rien d'agréable , car encombrée de bateaux , de détritus et de construction en béton très disgracieuse, pour réaliser une " pier" . Il s'agit d'une baie en courbe, avec au fond côté mer de nombreux îlots , qui donnent un air romantique mais côté mer seulement . La route 4170 , traverse le " village " essentiellement pourvu de restaurants , boutiques , agences , un hotel , pour faire des trip en bateaux . Ces bateaux , majoritairement des long tails , particulièrement bruyants avec leur moteur extérieur , sont alignés , attendant le client , le long d'un quai en béton très disgracieux . Il existe un bâtiment où on renseigne les touristes , car ici tout est tourné vers le petit business !
Quelques restaurants sont alignés le long de la route et ils pratiquent tous des prix plus élevés que les restaurants thais classiques . On peut aussi réserver un bateau, long tail ou speed boat pour la tournée des îles , faire de la plongée, des excursions , etc , en demie journée ou journée entière . Des rabatteurs se chargent de vous aborder pour vendre leur " produit "
Des touristes viennent ici pour aller notamment , dans les deux îles habitées de Koh Tan , la plus proche ou de Koh Mudsum un peu plus éloignée. Si vous prenez un long tail pour 2 , sans autre passager, cela vous coûtera environ 2.500 baths pour 4 heures d'excursion avec boisson seulement .
Quelques restaurants sont alignés le long de la route et ils pratiquent tous des prix plus élevés que les restaurants thais classiques . On peut aussi réserver un bateau, long tail ou speed boat pour la tournée des îles , faire de la plongée, des excursions , etc , en demie journée ou journée entière . Des rabatteurs se chargent de vous aborder pour vendre leur " produit "

We were lucky enough to rent a house directly on the beach, the beach is beautiful with overhanging palm trees and only a small area where restaurants etc border it, these are subtle and tasteful. The water is shallow for an extensive distance into the bay, but it is perfectly possible to swim except at perhaps the lowest tide. The beach is clean sandy. It is lovely to see that the local people are still able to continue their traditional fishing methods. There are a number of boat trips which leave from here, they are not intrusive and the boats slow on entering the pier area.
There is a7-11 and next door is the T.K supermarket, this has just about everything you need, the prices for beer, water, wine etc are only a couple of baht above Tesco and their fresh vegetables, limes lettuce, mangoes pineapples etc are better quality and cheaper .
There are several restaurants along the road with their own review areas on here, but in case tripadvisor won’t let me add, the must do place to eat if Fah Sai restaurant if you love authentic Thai food, beautifully presented and some of the best examples of dishes I have ever eaten for crazy price.

sorry for the late answer.
It's physically possible, but makes no fun. The "beach" ist very small in your direction (1-2 meters) and not very nice.
