Absolutely Lovely Waterfall

This was our 2nd visit to Millaa Millaa waterfall…. An absolute must place to visit if your ever in North Queensland… Very popular place for tourists and the locals.. Nice little spot for a swim as well so take your bathers and a towel… Toilets just next to the car park as well… Nice little viewing platform near the car park also for those who can’t manage to get down closer to the falls….

Cool waterfalls

Unbelievably beautiful. It was a sunny afternoon and the coolness of the falls was so refreshing. Enjoyed a short dip even though there were a lot of people around. Simply a must see.

Beautiful falls, can get quite busy so I'd recommend going early or late. Cold to swim. Even if busy it's possible to get a good picture. Creek is nice to explore as clear and you can see fish easily.

Tip: Instead of going to the main car park, you can turn off before which will get you to the car park at the falls level, this saves a lot of steps.

Popular waterfall, swimming hole and picnic ground

This is a great spot. It has one problem, though - it is just too popular. When we visited on a sunny day in late September it was packed, including a couple of bus groups. What's it got to offer? A beautiful waterfall with a clean 20-m drop into a large pool below that is perfect for a swim. There are nice lawns for picnicking or lounging about and the backdrop to this piece of heaven is a lush rainforest setting. It is easily accessible via sealed roads from Millaa township. My tip - avoid the weekends if you can.

NO they're not the biggest, the prettiest or the most amazing falls of the hundreds of falls in North QLD. And no the water is not the clearest and the area is not huge.
However, I personally think it's a lovely spot. I was there late in the day (almost 5pm) and mid winter, so the water was too cold for me, though you can see a couple still swimming. I absolutely love Millaa Millaa and it's hidden away waterfalls. I did see the toilet and shower block but didn't go in so can't comment on that. And I did see bus parking, so figured it must get busy at times, but what popular waterfall doesn't. But out of Ellinjaa, Zillie and Millaa falls, this is the easiest to access, it's wheelchair friendly, has the amenities block and is closest to the main street of Milla Milla. You can go barefoot and the car park is right next to the swimming hole. And in the non peak times of the day you could park down the bottom car park as there's no buses. I would definitely recommend this stop if passing through the town. I don't recall if there was tables or chairs on the grounds, I don't recall seeing any but bring your picnic blanket.

Stunning Falls

These falls were absolutely stunning. The day we went it was drizzle rain and cold but there was still someone game enough to swim. Quite a large car park and easy access to the falls. There are also wash rooms and toilets in area as well.

Beautiful falls

Picture perfect waterfall. Easy access from car parks. Nearby changing room is you want to have a swim. We visited early July after a week of rain, so there was plenty of water. Definitely worth a visit and photo opportunities
