Our family of 4 had a great time doing the Genies lamp at north valley escape rooms.
Ian was friendly and super nice. He explained everything very clearly before we started the room. He was an enthusiastic game master.
The escape room also was very creative and wasn't just opening combination locks. I was impressed with the quality of the puzzles. It took us a long time to solve the first puzzle.
We went on a weekday and it was very empty and easy.
This place is extremely well priced compared to other escape rooms.
In the Phoenix area.

My husband and I recently did the newest game, Arizona Steampunk Railway, at North Valley Escape Rooms. We were not disappointed! This was one of the best rooms we had done anywhere in quite awhile, and we have done almost 350 rooms total. The outside of the train is decorated like an old west train station. Inside the train, you see the Arizona landscape moving past, and the room actually feels like you are on a moving train! Great attention to detail, while being uncluttered. A wide array of fun, clever mind puzzles await. Our gamemaster was Kirsten, who was extremely helpful and enthusiastic. (Thx, Kirsten!) Highly recommend this business to locals and travelers, family friendly. A++

We had an amazing time at North Valley Escape Rooms! It's a very busy location! We did the Big Top Circus which was REALLY fun and very enjoyable! What a great time! We also did Alcatraz which was huge and made us really feel like we were in jail! Great rooms. We'll have to try more.

We encountered a mix bag when it come to this location.
The good - Big Top Circus and Alcatraz. These were both fun and frantic, and in the top rooms available in Phoenix.
Our GMs were also fantastic and really passionate
The bad - for us 7th Stone was a miss. The quality of the set wasn't great and some of the riddles weren't very logically or thematically sound.
Customer experience before our arrival was quite poor, I don't get the impression that this is a very Customer oriented company.
Is this place worth a visit? Yes. For sure

Wow! Just wow!
First, we needed to book 3 rooms/scenarios because we had about 26 people [summer kids’ (11-13 yr old) camp]. This staggered the times a bit which would have been tough for the first group - they would’ve had to an hour for the last group to finish and there isn’t really anything to occupy your time for an hour.
The staff adjusted everything for us so all three groups started and ended at the same time…awesome! They offered to do this we didn’t even ask!!!
Most of us had never done an escape room, so we weren’t sure what to expect. It was fabulous. Even with 8 people in a room, nobody felt claustrophobic.
I would HIGHLY recommend North Valley Escape Room!!

Best escape room in the valley! Very fun, imersive, and challenging games! Definitely recommend! I can't wait to go back with my family!

We have been big supporters of this venue for the last 4 years and we’ve truly enjoyed the anticipation of a new room and getting to experience it as they had set an industry standard with their quality of rooms and exceptional customer service. And, no, I do not only post negative reviews. In fact, I had previously posted a 5-star review for this same venue and sang their praises. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed and disappointed with our latest experience playing their new room, The Genie’s Lamp, in terms of both customer service and the quality of the room. But not so much that I had any intention of posting a negative review on it. However, what later transpired between me and the owner, Jeff, is what has now prompted this review.
I posted a comment (not a review as I did not want to negatively impact their rating) stating we were disappointed in our experience and felt the quality of their room and customer service had deteriorated noticeably over the years and that the room paled in comparison to many of their other rooms. I did this simply to share my experience for others to read about should they consider playing this room. There is a big following in the ER world and enthusiasts come to know specific venues and come to expect certain standards from them based on past experiences with them.
My comment was not well received by the owner, Jeff, so he deleted it. I reposted it and then he called me. It was a pleasant enough conversation although I felt he was making excuses by saying he hires high school and college students and how I wouldn’t believe how stupid they can be and how they have no common sense. I told him it sounds like it’s a training issue. He went out to say how he works two full-time jobs in addition to having the escape room. (I didn’t realize that was a legit reason to not have good customer service from yourself and your staff.) He even agreed how important good customer service is. He mentioned multiple times about how he doesn’t like to see negative things about them on social media and repeated several times about them being a small family business.
He explained that the room was purchased from a lady in Ohio, which completely explains why it didn’t meet the same standards and expectations of their previous rooms. He explained how it takes around 8 months to build a room. Apparently, they wanted something quicker than that. The speed cost them some quality, imo. But regardless, the conversation was positive for the most part and it ended positively with no reason for us not to continue supporting them when new rooms open.
After our call ended, I noticed he had once again deleted my comment. Imo, a phone call doesn’t then mean I’m not still allowed to share my experience online if I so choose to. I reposted my comment a third time. This resulted in Jeff calling me again and I had 4 missed calls from him within an 8-minute window. Is that necessary? Is that harassment at that point? He then left me the following voicemail, which is transcribed verbatim (I would add the actual audio if I could but it doesn’t allow me the option to attach it on a review):
“Hey Terra. It’s Jeff over at North Valley Escape Room. Um, I feel sorry for you. If this is all you have to do in life, I feel bad for you. I would probably get some mental help. But I called you, I was nice to you, I explained things to you. Not sure why you feel the need to go bash a small family business. You’re a disgrace.”
^^This is the reason I’m now posting this review. This is a BUSINESS OWNER talking to a CUSTOMER this way. How is this ever acceptable? And how is it acceptable to badmouth your employees to a customer? This place will NEVER get my business EVER AGAIN and I will share this experience with any and every one that I can. Regardless of his reason for doing so, he took it one step too far and showed his true colors to me.
There are many other escape room owners that are respectful and appreciate their customers. They value feedback and understand that it comes with the territory. Those are the places that will get my support & my business.

We have done several rooms at other places and had a blast ! 1st they had a lock that we Figured the code out we’re not open ask for clue I think we had it wrong ! They gave us the same code still would not open ! They stop the game after us trying for 15 min turns out they had the wrong lock on it !! Then we get to the last room to find out that the wood clues were missing some . When we left the employees were like O well . No sorry or anything

My wife and I did all 7 rooms here (including the seasonal Help Save Christmas game). Some of the best rooms we've every done (and we've done more than 300). Strongly recommend Escape from Alcatraz, The Great Outdoors, The Legend of the 7th Stone, and Big Top Circus! We want to particularly thank Tanner for hanging in as our game master for all 7 games!! Great job!

We did the Legend of the Seventh Stone, and it was so much fun. It was our first attempt at an escape room, and we were definitely a little nervous starting off, but the whole staff was courteous and enthusiastic. They took their time to explain the details of each room and the difficulty level.
This would be a great place for a hot summer day, with friends or family, especially since they have different difficulty levels.
We beat it with four minutes to spare! Bring your A game and your inner Sherlock Holmes!

Not an employee of North Valley Escape but for 4 people and not scary, I would recommend their 7th Stone (Egyptian themed) or their Alcatraz room (difficult, 6-8 people recommended).
