Living in Marske decided to check out the Ship once again. Yes the new owner is trying hard to reestablish this once lovely pub but I have mixed reviews.
We had bierre moretti which was ok, have tasted better. The pub allows dogs which is ok but being close to the beach, one of the dogs had a strong odour and barked whenever it saw another dog. I like dogs but when there is food being served dogs should be in a separate area. A staff member fed a dog biscuits then proceeded to serve customers without washing her hands🤢This could once again be a lovely popular pub, but please no dogs in food area.

Dog friendly pub large rooms plenty off space to eat & drink good menu we had large parmo first time wow it was big enjoyed it bar staff was so friendly 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Booked a table for 9 adults and arrived on time, ordered drinks at the bar and settled at our table. Ordered food including a couple of starters from the Sunday Menu and looked forward to our meals. An hour later having had a second round of drinks and the starters, a waitress came to us and apologised for the delay in serving our main courses and kindly offered us all a drink on the house which we gratefully accepted. When the meals finally arrived they were a little less than the ideal temperature, however we had expected the gravy to arrive at the same time but it was af further 10 minutes before it did appear, by which time those who had waited to start were disappointed as their meal had become cold. Another waitress apologised saying they had issues in the kitchen and took of the cost of 2 meals. Other tables in the pub were similarly affected. A most unfortunate situation had developed but no senior management was available to whom we could have spoken with.

Easy and relaxed, great staff, reasonably priced pub grub.
Held a function recently with a 30's style band and the management and staff were excellent, we couldn't have expected more.
Grub, well as much as it hits a brewery standard and they are contracted by dictation, The Ship Inn is so good it's under its fighting weight because of the brewery, nationally this needs to be addressed, not just any one pub.
Friendly and passionate. Thank you.

Visited with my family as we were looking for local food that wasn't just fish and chips. Loved it, the mussels were tasty and they offered a few different marinades/sauces instead of the usual one or two. My dad tried his first chicken parmo here and really enjoyed it too.

We had a lovely meal whilst staying in marske.
The waitress was very helpful as we kept asking questions.
The food was plentiful with a menu to suit most adults and children. We felt welcome and the beer garden was an added bonus.

We walked from Redcar and stopped for a meal and drinks. Boys had fish and chips and they were delicious! We had a baguette, which came with chips and coleslaw. All tasty.
Good choice of beers too!
We sat outside which wasn’t the nicest view but it was pleasant enough. Young bar staff and very friendly.

very lucky to go here on a lovely warm day.
sat outside at the back of the pub, not the best of views but it was quite busy and had a good atmosphere. we went for lunch and delighted with the meals. the menu was basic but quite extensive... burgers, parmesans, baguettes and fish and chips.
i opted for the fish and chips it was beautiful , the fish lovely and white ,chips were big chunky home cooked chips. my friends opted for parmos and said they were one of the best they had ever had. the portions were spot on for a lunchtime. will definitely be back

Had a really good evening we were there on a Tuesday for the music quiz. Food was lovely and proper chips not pasty white frozen chips or "fries" would definitely recommend the parmo but unless you have a massive appetite stick with the regular. Service was good and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

daughter booked table for Sunday lunch what a great meal very large portions so much so that i declined the offer of a desert very safe place to dine with excellent covid precautions in place only down side was slow service will call again when next in the area
