We walked here today through the commune of Huningue. The area at the foot of the bridge has been thoroughly modernised. There are places provided to relax by the river and the who area has a chilled out feel. The bridge of the Rhein can be reach by walking the river promenade from Basel.
The bridge itself is amazing. That such a large and expensive bridge was built solely for pedestrians and bicycles is enlightened.
The German side is very industrial, being a large port area.
There is a very large, multicultural area that is bedecked with colour. It was only just opening up when we walked by, but we could see that it was full of alternative eateries.A late afternoon and evening place.
All the way back along the river we could look back and see the bridge.

Come per il vicino Dreilaendereck, anche il Dreiländerbrücke (o Passerelle des trois pays) lo si visita non certo per la bellezza del ponte (mediocre) o del panorama (siamo in una zona industriale) ma bensì per la mera curiosità di attraversare un confine (collega infatti Francia e Germania, la Svizzera è più lontana).
Una particolarità: è il ponte ciclopedonale più lungo al mondo.

Die Dreiländerbrücke befindet sich - wie der Name schon sagt - im Dreiländereck Deutschland-Österreich-Schweiz. Vom Dreiländereck aus hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Brücke.

スイス、ドイツ、フランスの3国の国境にある橋です。橋の中央からドライレンダーエックという3国国境のモニュメントを見ることができます。自動車は通れないので安全に渡れます。スイス国鉄のバーゼル駅から8番のトラムで行けます。自分はKleinhünigenで降りて徒歩でドイツに入り、さらにドイツ->フランスと橋を渡って移動しました。フランス側に行くとHuningという街があり、がらりと印象が変わります。自分はHuningからNovartis Campusを通ってバーゼルに戻ったのですが、工場の横を通っている感じで面白くないので、Huningから再び橋を渡ってドイツ側に戻った方がいいです。

You take the tram into a German part of Basel and then alight near the start of the bridge. The walk across the Rhine takes about 5 minutes after which you arrive in the utterly soulless and uninspiring commune of Huningue, a suburb of Basel in France. We struggled to find a coffee shop there although when we did find one it was excellent, serving a nice little selection of good coffee and pastries. Apparently the town is building a nice little attraction at the end of the bridge but it seems like it will be some years away.

Ειναι απλά μια γεφυρα. Συνδεει τη Γερμανια με την Γαλλια και στην απεναντι πλευρά βρίσκεται η Ελβετια. Μπορείς να διασχισεις τη γεφυρα με τα ποδια ή με το ποδήλατο. Ωραια βολτα, ωραια γέφυρα αλλα ειναι τιποτα που δεν εχουμε ξαναδει.

La Passerelle est un endroit à voir absolument. On y jouit d'une belle vue, sans véhicules à moteur, avec un mélange de langues et le charme du passage des oiseaux et des bateaux. Toutefois, si on voit -au loin- une part de la Suisse, on n'y met pas un pied et il faut encore marcher un moment pour l'atteindre. 👌

Die Brücke ist toll aber leider ist der Gegend schlecht. Kann ich nicht als Ausflugsziel empfehlen. Viel Verkehr und sehr sehr dreckig.

Hi is it possible to take the tram right to the bridge from the train station and not have the walk yet be in all three countries? I am traveling with someone that walking 20 minutes straight is not possible

Hi, yes it is. We got the number 8 (I think) tram from Basel centre and that will take you directly there. I would then say a 5 minute walk dependant on your walking pace

Via the trams it doesn’t take too long about 30/35 minutes from the station and the tram stops more or less at the bridge. Walking I would say about 1 1/4 to get there.

Our cruise ends in Basel Switzerland. Not sure whether to stay or leave tight away. The bridge looks interesting but how do we get there from the city

We had a rented car, so it was convenient. You should stay in Basel itself where there is comfortable public transportation to the airport.

Yes, Thérèse us an excellent restaurant in Huningue, it’s called Le Vauban. 4.5 on TripAdvisor and i was there yesterday! Enjoy 😉
