We had a walk along the River Ant and then River Bure from Ludham Bridge.
There's not a lot to see at the Abbey. It's amazing that in the past someone built a windmill using the remains of the Abbey gatehouse.

There's not a lot to see most of the abbey is gone but information board shows you what it was like, very peaceful site you can watch boats going by, ideal for a picnic, only spent about 1 hour there but felt it a worthwhile visit, best visited on a dry day

We went here as children and both my brother and I heard the church bells ringing and monks singing. Bit spooky but lovely to visit

Lovely walk from Ludham Bridge along the river on a well marked permissive path, interesting information boards and the listening bench helped to bring the ruins to life a bit more. Very peaceful place out in the countryside.

Always a pleasure to visit one of Norfolk's most haunted places. St Benet's Abbey is also a beautiful spot for a picnic or a nice walk. There is cows in the field, so if you're a little scare of them, please be aware. A stunning place to visit and explore.

Whilst there aren’t many actual ruins left to see, it is worth spending some time wandering around this serene site. It is a very calming place, with great views across the countryside.
There is a path along the river, where you can wander and boat watch.
The ‘talking bench’ near the altar cross has informative little voice recordings which are worth listening to.
You can drive to a free car park, which is just a small walk to the ruins, or alternatively, walk the 1 1/2 miles along the river from Ludham Bridge.

We walked to the Abbey from the nearby caravan site - just a short walk away. There are lots of information boards to provide information about these ruins. We would have liked to stay longer, but the weather turned and we made our way back to site. We'll return next time we're in the area as we would like to spend more time looking around the ruins.

A remote location of the banks of the River Bure.
Quite a large site with a few ruins.
Interesting place to wander around thinking of the history of the site.
Free entry.
No facilities on site.
A few information boards.
Nearest village is Ludham but like us most visitors will arrive by boat.
Free mooring on the edge of the site.
The mooring is quite long but at the time of the visit 2/3 of the mooring is closed for repairs
This is an isolated location and can be wind spread with no shelter on site.
If on the broads well worth a visit.
Note the mooring also has no facilities and can get busy.

Interesting visit to this Abbey and church ruins. Good information at the site. Weather wasn't brilliant but still got good pictures. ground on the muddy side but otherwise clean and tidy. Popular visiting point mainly by boaters on the Broads. There are footpaths/walks leading to/from Ludham Bridge and Ludham. We walked 4.4 miles round to Ludham Bridge and back. Nice stop at the pub for a drink.
