I recently visited Ballyhoura horse trekking and it was the most amazing and tranquil experience I’ve ever had. I highly recommend visiting Ballyhoura horse trekking so you can experience the beautiful scenery of the surrounding area. Overall my experience was a 10/10

Sarah and John Joe were just brilliant. The hacking was excellent, lovely long canter stretches and the horses were very well cared for and really nice, I had a cracking ex-racehorse who had the sweetest temperment. Most of the group are good riders and relucant to book hacking as quite often find that it can be very basic walk-trot on riding school horses - this was absolutely not the case here. The views are brilliant and the hack was great, fast paced and really enjoyable. John Joe stayed with our less experienced rider and gave her great confidence - and we all got treated to local Ballyhoura apple juice once we finished - thank you for a great experience

Sarah and John Joe organized a great ride for our recent study abroad trip. They put together 3, 2.5 hour rides for a total of 25 people with skills ranging from accomplished riders to those on their first trek. We felt safe and encouraged to try to push ourselves (for those of us new to riding), and for those experienced, they felt pushed to expand their skills, too. The best part, though, were the views! There truly is nothing like seeing Ireland on horseback and discovering places you've never seen, but only heard about (like a forest so dense that it's black).

for beginners and exellent horseriding people. You can make a tour for an hour with the owners of the horses in the amazing countryside in Ireland.

I love horse-riding on different countries and Ireland was certainly worth it. The trip was booked and organised by the very helpful Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel, making it very easy. My beautiful horse Molly was a great companion and the Irish countryside is stunning. Recommend to any level of rider as anything can be accommodated. I will be going back.

There is a reason the reviews are so good for this place. I brought 3 beginners here last week and afterwards they all talked about taking up horse riding full time!. John Joe and Sarah go out of there way to ensure everyone has a great time. The horses are clearly very well looked after and happy to do there work but also very safe. We went for a hour trek on country lanes, forest trails and through rivers and meadows, it was excellent-the best trek for beginners I have ever been on. Myself and my daughter who can ride then went on the two hour treks and had wonderful long canters with the most beautiful scenery to look at. Again the horses and the hosts were perfect, we even got to go back and do a round of jumps in there field. I cannot recommend this trekking centre high enough

This place is amazing. I was never big into horses but after visiting Ballyhoura horse trekking I have changed my mine. The views alone are amazing. The professionalism of Johnjoe and the gang and the gentle nature of the animals would put anyone at easy. Our seven year old wants to do this every weekend. At one point on the trek we were at 2000 ft and could see 5 counties on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend this experience..... Thank you Johnjoe O Brien and all at ballyhoura horse trekking. We will be back.
