To visit this location “Sanctuary of Mont Alto” you have to drive uphill trough by a small and curvy road, because the Sanctuary is located at 615 m of altitude. Along the way, which once allowed pilgrims to head to that important place of pilgrimage and devotion, some chapels are erected to culminate at the top with the chapel dedicated to the Patroness, built on a hill overlooking the village. You have also the chapel of Senhor da Ladeira who welcomes the baby Jesus. On the day of our visit everything was closed, and let us say a bit abandoned, but it is a good location for families with kids to have a pic-nic with fantastic views and enough place to leave the car.
