Nous avons uniquement fait l'extérieur. C'est un très bel endroit.
Je ne sais pas si la maison est visitable, mais la plage et le mémorial mérite le détour

Estuvimos en Normandía tres días y, la verdad, me ha sorprendido gratamente. Yo pensaba que sería un poco de rollo la visita a las playas del desembarco de Normandía y nada más lejos de la verdad. La experiencia ha sido muy positiva. Me encantó la Playa de Juno donde se localiza este edificio que fué destrozado durante el desembarco de los soldados canadienses el 6 de junio de 1944 y que luego se ha convertido en todo un símbolo al respeto y admiración que siguen teniendo a día de hoy los residentes del lugar hacia estos soldados que les salvaron de la invasión nazi.
Los lugareños apuntan que los canadienses fueron unos magníficos soldados que, además de salvarlos, tuvieron mucha precaución en ser amables con ellos. No se cometieron ningún tipo de atrocidades muy dadas en combate y después de ellos como podrían ser las violaciones generalizadas.

Fantastic site and history.

We visited this gorgeous town, beach and site with a bus tour while in area. Thankfully our guide was great and filled us in on the history here and we then visited the house on the beach. It is a fantastic feeling to go here and see the Canadian flags and read all the history.
On DDay, this house was the first property liberated by soldiers in all of Normandy and the armies moved inland from here and other beach locations. It's great to see this site and how the owners keep up the memorial and honour the war heroes that liberated it! Amazing place to visit, don't pass it by!!

Bekend huis aan het landingsstrand

Bekende villa vlak aan de kust die je terugvindt op heel wat foto's van de landing van de Canadese troepen in Normandië. Het was gesloten toen wij er waren, maar het was de korte omweg waard.

This is an amazing site and the owners keep in a marvelous state. When visiting, I strongly suggest bringing some historical photos or a book, then go on the beach and stand where the photo was taken. I feel that gives one a deeper connection to the events of 6 June 1944.

We could not get into the house on the day we visited, but this beautiful home was included as part of a tour we did with Overlord. I just want to thank the kind man , and his family, who gave his home to honour the Canadians who liberated his village. We are eternally grateful

Truly Amazing Experience

While I have visited Juno Beach several times before and have been honored to actually
visit with Nicole inside her house on three separate occasions it is always heart warming to return to what is believed to be the first house liberated on Juno Beach on D-Day by the Queen's Own Rifles. Sorry we missed you this time Nicole, but we thank you for what you do to honor the Canadians who fought on June 6th and your welcoming of Canadians to your home. Keep in mind that this is a private residence and you should contact her directly before hand if you wish to visit
