Very nice garden in Temples Valley

Giardino della Kolymbethra is a garden located in Temples Valley, in the surroundings of Agrigento, in Sicily Island. It is a very nice garden, which you can visit if you enter the Temples Valley. It is necessary to buy another ticket to go here, but it is very nice. You can walk and relax and see a lot of different plants and a very very very nice view of the remains of a temple located on the other side. However, you can see it, if you go to a high position, in a little mountain. Very beautiful. Also, if you walk about 15-20minutes, you can arrive to the remains of the temple of Vulcano. Also very nice.

there was an artificial lake

The Kolymbethra Garden occupies a small valley in the heart of the Valley of the Temples where, under the tyranny of Theron, an extensive artificial basin was built fed by a network of underground aqueducts. Currently, managed by FAI, the garden includes an area of citrus grove, one of almond and olive grove and one rich in typical plants of the Mediterranean scrub. It deserves a ride while visiting the archaeological site.

Collection of different citrus species, as well as olive trees, mulberries and crops. Unfortunately hardly labelled and not very varied. But 7€ admission is relatively high. For this purpose, a combination ticket consisting of the Valley of the Temples and the Garden is advertised on the Internet, which is not available on site.

Beautiful garden, we did the Guided tour of the hypogeum, our guide Giuseppe very good. It is waterproof for those who go to the valley of the temples.

A lush garden in the heart of the temple valley. You can find olive trees, orange trees, lemon trees, mulberry trees, almond trees... In summer they do concerts if you visit the valley of the temples at sunset. The visit is worth 7€ (5€ if Shopping combined with the visit to the valley. Carved into calcarenite walls. You can take a guided tour of the hypogeus by buying admission at the ticket offices

It represents the garden or in any case, the green area of the Archaeological Park of Agrigento. The beauty of the place is accompanied by its functionality as in good weather and in the high season the torrid Sicilian heat could be a problem. The vegetation present, however, is diversified and useful to the visitor for a moment of relaxation.

Who would have thought that inside an Archaeological Park, made of art, tuff, pebbles, yellow, heat there would also be room for colour, for a very particular botanical paradise which owes its fertility to the presence of spring water that comes from the city? Well this garden will leave you speechless with its smallness, within which hides the immensity of time that flows and produces life and love. And because, if you have an attentive eye and ears, you will discover a new treasure, you will realize that you are not alone, that the Lord on the cross is waiting for you... somewhere.
