A place that is a real pearl in the heart of Montepulciano. A cellar in the rock that is the gold of this place. The food is really good, I recommend pici with white Chianina sauce or duck. I would have given full marks if there were no biblical times in the service: for a first, the dessert that only two people took and a dessert, we sat for more than two hours.

Montepulciano is now ... Cantina Gattavecchi ! Impossible not to be there and not give yourself such a complete experience. Menu, Wines, environment and staff excellent. ... We frequent Tuscany and I really could not indicate more complete pisto ... Thank you.

A fantastic confirmation every time we go BUT this time a fantastic surprise in gluten free.... pici!!! Great (see photo)!! Gluten-free is absolutely not a problem... also great bread. Absolutely worth trying is the pecorino pudding. Very kind and competent staff, charming local... you eat in the refectory of an ancient monastery. Possibility to eat outside overlooking the valley.

The food is great, the waiter very nice and the waiting times normal.
We ate pici cacio e pepe, tagliolini with Chianina sauce, fantastic Fiorentina and tiramisu alla nutella top. Good pecorino crust potatoes.
Free visit to the cellars and possibility to buy wine. Highly recommended.

We loved this place and will go back, as it was a feast of Tuscan dishes prepared well, served by staff who lit up as we returned empty plates and shared the delight of having eaten their food (of which they were clearly proud). We had a lovely bottle of their wine to go with the meal and took olive oil and a few more bottles with us. Recommend for family or group of friends, also be a nice spot for dinner for 2! We enjoyed lunch at a table inside with a huge view across the valley- marvellous!
