This is on the façade from a house who is located on the east side of the market square. Three doors open and a circle of figures - accompanied by the chimes that sing mining tunes - tells the story of Rammelsberg's mining industry from the legendary discovery by the knight Ramm to modern times. Normally four times a day, the game starts on the “gable of the combination building”, unfortunately we did not see it started”. The carillon and the circulation of figures were donated by Preussag in 1968 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Rammelsberg mining. In addition, the morning song will be played at 8:30 a.m. and the evening song will be played at 6:30 p.m. (without figure rotation). Playing times daily at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

I waited from 2:45pm to hear and possibly see the figurines come out and dance at 3:00pm on the dot.
The music went on for quite a long time but the figures didn't appear.
Apparently in winter, the figures don't make an appearance.
Drat. I wish I had seen it. But the music was lovely nonetheless.

We made a point to be here at 6 to see this. It is short but sweet! Enjoy a drink at one of the nearby cafes and watch this mini "history" of Goslar play out.
