An old world War 2 fortress with great views. Signs to explain the site and history.

I recommend parking by the ocean and walk up the steep hill.
If you have mobility issues you can drive almost until the site from main road.

Visitamos el complejo de la fortificación nazi de la segunda guerra mundial. Muchos bunkers, trincheras, alojamientos de los soldados, polvorones. Todo bastante bien conservado. Hay algunos con agua dentro, una lástima por que es una zona que se podría explotar más. Hay carteles informativos de la historia del emplazamiento.

Chilling a necessary to see

A natural spur of land extends into this idyllic fjord with its frame of sensational mountains. A really beautiful, serene place into which the Nazis hammered a huge battery of guns.
The brutalist concrete is all still therem the trenches and everything. The setting makes it more horriffic,
And there were Russian slaves in a prison camp in the picture-perfect fishing village.
It makes you sit down for a bit.
When we were there there were some temporary stakes that suggested the tourist board may be going to put up some more signs. There is already a very helpful, multilingual explanatory board.
Required viewing.

Stunning views over Lyngenfjord and Lyngsfjellan (the Lyngen Alps)

A steep hike to the 1,142m Storhaugen summit, via the ruins of a coastal fort from World War II.

The walk starts not much above sea level: there's a signpost at the parking area for both Storhaugen (4.4km) and Dalberget (2.2km): to get there turn off the E6 towards the Djupvik cemetery (there is signpost on the E6 pointing to "Kirkegård". Follow this for about 200m to a parking area (69.745919, 20.510063).

The path is easy to follow as it winds up the hill, and after 2km the path rises above the tree line and crosses the Storelva River on a sturdy timber bridge. There are great views just after crossing the bridge from Dalberget.

NOTE: To get to the summit, there is a faint path BELOW the timber bridge (the junction is at 69.74018, 20.55199) - take this track, which goes directly up the side of the mountain!

Below the peak and situated on the hill Storbakken, the highest point of Spåkenes, is the old WWII fort was built in 1941 by the German army. The fort consisted of four bunker complexes, each of which included a gun, ammunition bunker, trench, and infantry bunker. All remain fairly intact, except for one of the bunkers that suffered extensive damage in a post-occupation explosion.

Я заехал сюда посмотреть руины артбатареи немцев времен второй мировой войны. Здесь можно даже залезть в наблюдательный бункер. Также вокруг красивые виды.
