For 18 EUR per person, you can taste 150 wines in their cellar - what's not to like? Don't expect a lot of explanation however, you are given a glass and you can just take the wines out of the fridge and taste. Every wine has a little sign with a bit of explanation about the winery, but I missed information about taste notes for example. So come prepared and armed with your trusted wine app, and be sure to calculate at least one hour of your time. Afterwards you can buy any of the wines that you've tried. The prices were similar to what you would pay at the producer. If you're in Bernkastel, I would highly recommend a visit!

Leider findet man keine Hinweise darauf, dass das Weinmuseum dauerhaft geschlossen ist (ob und wann es wieder öffnet ist fraglich). Die Vinothek hat geöffnet. Der Weinkeller ist beeindruckend, aber das Angebot aus den Weinen der kompletten Moselregion zu probieren überfordert (außer man will sich preisgünstig die Kante geben). Hier in der Gehend hat man selbst von einem Winzer reichlich Auswahl für nette Weinproben - und von Winzern gibt es hier wahrlich genug.
Schade, ich dachte ich könnte hier - wie angepriesen - ein Basiswissen erlangen.

Vi betalade 18 EUR per person och vi försågs med varsitt vinglas och en provningslista. Vi gick sedan ner i källaren och provade hur mycket vin vi ville. Här fanns hur mycket moselvin som helst. Efter en halvtimme hade vi provat oss igenom mycket och plockade uren korg med viner, som vi sedan betalade för och tog med oss hem. Praktiskt sätt att köpa vin. Rekommenderas varmt.

We bought some great Rieslings from the Mosel Valley there, with a good price. There are lots of wines stored there. We didn't have so much time, so we didn't do the tasting or visit the whole place. Go to the Vinotheque in the basement of the building!

Where else can you find a range of local wine producers - over 100, and literally hundreds of wines to taste for 18 euros...all self service so you can take your time, try before you buy or not at all, but a great way to get a taste of pretty well everything the Mosel wine makers have to offer and all in the one place. Cheers!

We visited this museum and wine cellar as part of a tour. I don't think I fully appreciatd the museum part of the event.
There was a brief introduction to wine in the sales room. We then were lead down to the cellars where there are many, many wines stored at precise temperatures. Open bottles are available for you to sample at your leisure. Apparently the only factor is time. So, plan your visit with that in mind!
Of course, the wines are for sale and you can choose what you like. Prices seemed inexpensive to me.

Vinmuseet var stängt för renovering när vi var där. Det var dock möjligt att prova 140 olika viner i vinkällaren. Det kostade endast 18€ samt 2€ i pant för ett glas. Man fick därefter på egen hand, prova så mycket man önskade och orkade. Allt trevligt presenterat och allt man provade, kunde man köpa med sig efter provningen. Kommer tillbaka!

This is really two difference experiences, The Museum and 2 the tasting cellars. The Museum could be a 4 or a 5 if you spoke German. For an English speaker on a 3.
. I was disappointed that there were very few artifacts or objects used in winemaking. It starts with a very long film in German only that must have been commissioned by the Rieseling marketing board. Lots of pictures of grapes and close ups of people eating and drinking, Skip it if you don't speak English. The touch screens do have an English option and you can learn more about the actual wine making process that you probably wanted to know. Right now to the organic chemistry of the wine. The short film at the end does have English subtitles and is very good.
The tasting cellars were extremely impressive, 130 different bottles and yes, unlimited tasting. For 18 Euros, that is a bargain,

It’s all self-serve. You have a list with the wines and numbers. You go down into the cellar and find the numbered wine in a cooler. There is also information on the vineyards and wine makers. You can taste as many or little as you want, no time limit.
