We were visiting a relative in Tynset and this is the church her family attends. We visited on a Sunday morning after services so were able to go inside the church, it was really beautiful inside and we felt very fortunate to be able to see the inside of the church. We also had the privilege of it being a special occasion at the church so many of the men and women were dressed in bunads (which is traditional Norwegian clothing used for special occasions.) The church sits on a high hill overlooking the valley and has an amazing view of the city of Tynset below. The church grounds are lovely and we enjoyed our visit to this historic church.

У немногих церквей есть такое красивое расположение, как у церкви в Tynset . Расположена на холме. Дорогу, приводящую к церкви, называют Vedalen. Имя указывает, что это было местом языческого вероисповедания и ритуалов давным-давно. Церковь была освящена в 1795, всего спустя три года после того, как предыдущая церковь сгорела дотла.

I prefer visiting Churchs when they are used for the purpose they are built for. So evening mass on an august sunday should have been ideal. But with only 9 parishers gathered in this enormous Church, the only delight was the selection of the hymns made by the excellent organist. Most of the more than 5000 inhabitants of Tynset municipality are members of this congregation, so with a mass only every forthnight, the participation of the congregation was rather disappointing.
