Very nice and interesting museum in wonderful Trzic. Exhibitions are about slovenian ski tradition and about old, traditional shoemakers in this region. It's really worth to visit!

I'm not lover of museums but this one is small and entertaining enough. Fist we looked at history of skiing in Slovenian...Tina Maze is the best. :-) Then we looked at Trzic history of producing shoes and indigo cloth painting. Did you know that Trzic had 91 shoe makers? Wow!
This museum is must see!

Museum in former factory is a special place where you can understand how people lived the small Alpine town of Trzic. Museum of crafts and industry and skiing museum are in the same place. Most interesting for families with children - special children's corners and interactions.

If you have the chance to visit this museum and get to know more about slovenian traditional work, please don't hestitate, we were most pleasantly surprised. The museum itself is very interactive, they gathered all the interesting information and presented it in different ways - even for the kids they prepared all kind of interactive corners where they can fully engage. Our guide was amazing (Tina - i hope i remembered it right), she explained us everything and made the tour even more interesting, she knows a lot and she was encouraging our curiosity. I didn't have a clue Tržič is such a beautiful city with so many things to do. We will certainly come back, especially to the museum where we still have a ski part to see.

When we went to the tourist office
the young lady there didn´t say a
word about this museum.
Strange...
Anyhow we found it and it was really something special.
The curator has done a great you here in showing what
made this town flourish.
The museum is full of information, well presented objects
and interesting insights into the area..
We were almost alone there at the time, and that´s a great shame.
It deserves much better.

We visited the museum on Šuštarska nedelja, a holiday that takes place in the town of Tržič. The entry free was free of charge and the curator, that took us round the museum was awesome. I have never heard, learned or had such a nice walk through the museum in my life. Dr. Bojan Knific didn't explain every little thing in the museum, but gave us a more general description so good I can still remember everything he said. Our kids are still very young, but they didn't complain when we walked through the museum and listened to the explination. And the wall of famous shoes is something you must see! It was great.
