This area is particularly bad, with heavy traffic on lots of roundabouts and no pedestrian facilities. The tavern doesn't even have a pedestrian entrance, you have to go through driveways and car parks to find somewhat hidden doors. Then hide yourself away in a sterile pub and pay $9.90 for schooners that are 20-30% cheaper elsewhere, even in this area, plus similarly high prices for food.

I’m always looking for places with a good range of gluten free meals and I was super impressed with the head chef at the Tavern Bistro who really went out of his way to accommodate us. He’s even added more gf meals to the new menu and you can get all kinds of meals that are gf - ask for gf bread as it doesn’t appear on the menu. (It’s not a gf kitchen so if you’re very sensitive it might not be suitable). Chips aren’t gf but there’s lots of other things to keep you happy. Definitely worth a visit, ask to speak to the head chef Ruvi because he’s awesome. And the food is very good, tasty and plentiful.

Visited thinking it would be convenient for a quick pub meal. It wasn’t worth the effort. Over lit and worn out feeling, tables a bit sticky, staff okay but disinterested.
All of that can be forgiven if the food is good value for money, but it’s not. Poorly cooked counter meals for posh restaurant prices.

Every pub says they are different and this one is NOT. Despite extensive New fit-out; it adds nothing to the ordinary service and lack of good quality food served by people who would rather be elsewhere. Why bother.

We had not eaten here for years. How the food quality has deteriorated and prices escalated. Restaurant prices for cafe style food.
