The huge lake is the centre-piece of this park. People fish here, of course, but families also just hang-out by the water's edge to watch the ducks, birds, etc. Walking, jogging, cycling are the common activities here.

Once swamp and wetlands this largish park with a lake was constructed by extracting sand between 1997 and 2001. It sits on Warrigal Road where South Road ends in what could be described as ''average" industrial and hence such a park adds significant value to what is a fairly drab area. There is a walking and bike track around the park , scrubby trees that are growing around the lake and some places for picnics and viewing of the fishermen and women hpefull of pulling out a perch or rainbow trout from the murky water..Not the greatest park around, but definitely popular.Many snake signs and one would assume for a good reason.

I have driven past many times but when our lockdown allowed us to travel 15km we decided to try and catch a fish after the recent restocking. The fish didn't participate in spite of the large numbers of anglers dotting the shoreline using all fishing methods.
There are paved paths and there are shortcuts the public decided were needed. One path circumnavigates the large lake and there are swans, ducks and cormorants around the shoreline. The water was surprisingly clear in spite of the rain. The only thing that is required is more car parking.

Today with my eldest grandson we went fishing for the first time (him) and my first time for 25-30 years. What a great location. There are three car parks with lots of walking pathways around the lake. Fishing is good. This is one of many lakes which is stocked with fish several times a year. It is hard to believe that this is in the middle of suburbia. Will we go here again, absolutely. Grandson has already booked next Sunday.

I often take my doggies around the lake, it’s an easy walk and gorgeous view.
At times a bit busy with bicycles but there are little pathways through the bush if you’re up for it.

This is an artificial and interesting lake made by extracting sand in what was a storm water area from the run-off from nearby market gardens and other operations. It sits on the corner of the Dingley By-Pass and Warrigal Road and is not the most attractive part of Melbourne, however they have made a pleasant open space with a 1.8 KM walk around the lake and some good open spaces for outdoor activities.In time it will look quite good.The positive was that a large open green space was retained in an area that is largely industrial.

This is a very good walking experience. There are two options that are linked, one around the lake on a bitumen path and one around the wetlands on a gravel path (well maintained). both paths are shared with cyclists, but generally pretty safe as most cyclists travel at reasonable speeds, and as paths are generously wide.
Would have given 5 stars if walkers were directed to go anticlockwise and cyclists to go clockwise so each group could see the other group and make allowances.
Some comments about the lack of bins - well this is one of the best things about this park - no overflowing/smelly bins. Just take your rubbish/dog poo with you and put it in your own bin.

This park is a great place to visit and walk around the lake, maybe catch a fish, enjoy a bbq or just walk the dog

Well I have driven past this place so many times and thought I must go and have a look. Mate asked me to do the walk with a small walking group, thought why not. So clean and so well maintained, lot of bird life - an oasis in an a semi industrial area - and a Bunnings within walking distance as well - doesn't get much better than that.

I would have given more stars but there was no bins for dog poo. We walked around the entire lake and picked up after our dogs to find there was no bins. Nice picnic areas but also no bins. Its a nice park but to hear the traffic while walking us not very relaxing. They could do with sound barrier next to highway.
