Sunday, December 1, 2024 we stayed in this amazing place, off the main tourist routes. The place deserves to be visited, peace, tranquility and above all so much history, to us lavished by the volunteer Gianluca, a real passionate scholar and connoisseur of the area to which our best thanks go.

Kevin professional and competent guide

Stunning and one of a kind. Catapulted into another dimension where it seems that time has stopped. Wonderful and exciting where the uncontaminated and relaxing nature makes you lose the connection of everyday life. The guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and thorough. It made us fall in love with a world that was sometimes unknown to us. Highly recommended. Easy and equipped route for everyone. Visit it.

A beautiful discovery

We visited the Byzantine village a few days ago.
We were accompanied by Gianluca, an attentive guide, prepared and passionate about his work and a lover of his areas; making us emotional during the visit.
Gianluca was able to convey a set of archaeological, environmental, naturalistic and historical information which allowed us to better appreciate the Byzantine village and its historical and cultural context.

Fantastic experience, which we take the liberty of suggesting for anyone wishing to spend a few days in Enna and its surroundings.

NIET open tijdens openingstijd

We hadden vantevoren gechecked of het open was (via en de site en via google) , helemaal ernaartoe gereden, zit er gewoon een dik hangslot op de poort! Samen met nog een gezelschap (die er ook vanuit gingen dat het open was) stonden we voor een dichte deur. 6 keer het telefoonnr gebeld wat op de poort stond, werd niet opgenomen! Kortom, 2 uur gereden voor niets!
Niet naartoe gaan dus, je kunt er niet vanop aan dat het open is op de tijden dat ze zeggen open te zijn.

We are sorry for what happened, but it seems that you use TripAdvisor only to make judgments, without reading informations on the sites you visit. In the description of the Byzantine village of Vallone Canalotto you find on TripAdvisor it is recommended to book, cause we are not employees, we are volunteers who can happen unexpected events, as it happened that day and a few other times in our 12 years of activity. Precisely for such, possible unforeseen events, we have expressly recommended to book also on opening days so as not to run the risk of making an empty trip.

Esperienza fantastica anche grazie alla sapiente guida di Samantha che ci ha raccontato il sito mostrandoci la bellezza dei luoghi ed i colori dei fiori spontanei..il ricordo più bello: la sorpresa di mio figlio davanti alla orchidea italica!

Luogo splendido, mix di storia e natura!

Un luogo meraviglioso! Siamo andati io, mio marito e mio figlio di 12 anni. La nostra brava, preparata, appassionata e disponibile guida, Gianluca, ci ha permesso di calarci pienamente nella storia e nella naturale bellezza del sito, spiegandoci tante cose interessanti che ci dimostrano ancora una volta quanto sia importante il patrimonio culturale e naturalistico della Sicilia e quanto sia fondamentale preservarlo, custodirlo e rispettarlo. Grazie Gianluca. Visita assolutamente consigliata!

L'attrattiva di questo sito è stata una sorpresa. E' un luogo pieno di fascino, una passeggiata naturalistica immersi nella storia. Il sito è gestito da dei ragazzi molto
gentili, preparati e competenti che curano questo posto con passione. Loro stessi accompagnano i visitatori alla scoperta del villaggio bizantino spiegando minuziosamente gli avvicendamenti storici. Il tempo trascorrere senza accorgersene.

Le site est magnifique et très bien conservé. Si l'office du tourisme italien y mettait davantage de moyen, ce serait un lieu incroyable
