Go to the concert series at St. James Church

While in Dingle, I strongly urge you to attend one of Eoin Duignan's Seasonal Concert Series at St. James Church. He has the most amazing musicians join him and you will get to hear traditional Irish music in a beautiful setting. I cannot say enough about this concert series. It is inspiring and wonderful.

Don't miss the music concert!

The Irish music concert at St. James Churc was a highlight of our trip and just down the street. Tickets are sold throughout the town and in the pub next door.

A lively concert that closed with traditional dance. Lovely! The line was long to enter and I worried we'd not get in but there was lots of room and the line moved quickly.

Fantastic Venue

Visited the church for Other Voices wow such a fantastic intimate venue. Would highly recommend if you are in Dingle and if you can get a pass to go. Even if there are no passes some of the pubs stream the gigs. Hope this helps.

Every time we visit Dingle we make sure we visit St. James. The concerts are so intimate and lovely, the musicians are incredible. Highly recommended:

SO SO GOOD And Intimate

We managed tickets to this venue and are so happy we did. In an "OLD" Church they perform "Trad Music" which would equate to Apalachian or Mountain Music in Kentucky. The night we attended it was a group of 4 musicians and singers providing a history lesson through music. They were great in explaining what the background of the various pieces were and where they came from. It is a must do event if ever in Dingle!

Trad Music Without Fighting The Pub Crowd

You'll need to duck into Paul Geaney's Bar & Restaurant next door to buy tickets. Simply ask any of the staff if they have tickets for the show. The day we attended, they didn't have tickets on hand until the day of the concert (Friday,) but we made it a point to keep checking in until they did.

The night of our show, a Rick Steves tour group was there with us, so it was a packed house. The show had a 10 min intermission in the middle, where a different group of artists performed during the second half.

All in all, it was a treat!

On This Special Night We Loved the Concert

These concerts are a great way to hear good traditional Irish folk music, and many musicians on instruments we don't hear much in the US. On this particular evening, we were privileged to hear Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, a formerly world-traveling vocalist and Irish Flute player, and her long time friend Gerry O'Beirne, on guitar and vocals. Although we had not heard either, we were impressed with their music and performances. John Brown (guitar) and regular host Eoin Duignan, who accompanied with Uilleann Pipes, Irish flute, and penny whistle were great as well. What an unexpectedly fun evening of great music.

st james church musical show

a group of 6 adults visited the church for their musical show. It was outstanding. A young woman sang touching songs-many she wrote herself. Their was 3 different men who played bagpipes, tin whistle, guitar and more and sang along with some of the instruments. it was very reasonably priced to listen to local inspired musicians in their element.
