We were there to vist the resting place of the legend Oliver Reed and to vist his local where we were greeted by the lovely Mary. Great bar and lovely people. No wonder he called it his second home. Will be back.

Visited O’Briens after I heard that actor Oliver Reed spent most of his time here,
Was very impressed on how they still maintain the classic interior of a traditional Irish bar and the atmosphere was lively,service was excellent provided by competent and knowledgeable lady behind the bar. Definitely the friendliest and CLEANEST bar I have ever been. Now I know why Ollie Reed choose this bar instead of other bars! Thumbs up!!

Lovely true Irish bar. Very old fashioned with an open fire. The pub has history to it, it being Oliver Reeds favourite pub! He used to frequent the pub, calling it his second home and is buried just 50 yards away. Great place to unwind beside the fire or play some darts or pool.

We as a family travelling from killorglin co kerry on holiday back home to Belfast decided on a small detour to churchtown to vist a legends resting place..Ollie reed..we arrived early morning at obriens bar and met by the wonderful Mary,the landlady,she made us a cup of tea and told us some great stories about Ollie.She gave us the key to the cemetery,after some photos we continued our journey home,unfortunately when we arrived in Dublin for a break I noticed I still had the key :(...I will post it with immediate effect ......Jim and Brenda and family

A nice pub old style but cozy. There is a pool table and dartboard and a foxy fireplace for the winter. Staff are lovely and helpfully.

This is a great bar in a wonderful village in North Cork. It is where Oliver Reed the actor spent a lot of time and he is buried in the churchyard across the road. The locals are friendly, welcoming and have a mischievous sense of humour. They are always ready to discuss world affairs, economics and social trends but especially sport and even more especially horse racing about which they are experts - the village being the birthplace of Vincent O'Brien. The Guinness is the best I have ever had. Once you go in it is hard to come out - but the fish and chip shop opposite is a good place when you have lost the will to cook! Go and have a great time in the real Ireland.

Me and my other half went especially to cork to find this place very welcomed by the landlady we aasked about were oliver reed was buried as he was my idol she kindly gave us the key to the hes private resting place we would like to say thank you Michelle kent

Arrived upon this little pub while travelling Cork with my husband. It was by far the best pub we came across on our journey. We arrived at 5 in the evening but ended up staying all night. We met all the locals who were lovely and the barmaid Mary who made us feel at home. We heard a few first hand accounts of Oliver Reed which was great! Am back in Dublin now but will visit this spot for sure if I am ever in Cork.
