Did another trip with Mike and Derry this summer. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip again. River Nore is so picturesque.

Boating on the river on a glorious summer Sunday, what could be nicer? Mike and Gerry were so laid back, patient and knowledgeable that they made the experience unforgettable. Seeing swans protecting their cygnet, sandmartins darting furiously overhead, ducks with tiny ducklings scurrying away from us, herons taking flight, a cow cooling off in the middle of the river and a horse standing peacefully knee deep in cold water in Inistiogue, all added to our experience. Food tasted better than ever while picnicking near Dysart Castle. Kayaks racing past spurred us on to paddle harder. All in all, a boat trip of a lifetime, right on our doorstep.

Fantastic tour by Mike on open canoes and best way to experience the beauty of a historical area surrounded by natural beauty. Thomastown to Inishtigue (sp) is an amazing stretch of the river Nore. You can see why the Norse and later British landholders set up their castles and demesne here. Mike was a great guide on the day pointing out the elusive kingfishers and other flora and fauna, and had knowledge about all the other landmarks; houses, bridges, etc that create the backdrop to this stunning area.

Fantastic scenery. Saw plenty including Kingfisher. Mike was a very good guide. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks to Mike for providing a much needed escape for our family of 2 adults and 2 boys of 8 and 11yrs. We absolutely loved it. Peace and calm, beautiful scenery & wildlife, plenty of litte rapid to jizz things up and a few fishermen to dodge along the way. Lots of fun and craic. No experience required, Mike is well able to instill confidence in his crew. About 4 hours in total, didn't want to leave when it was time to get out. We look forward to another trip soon.

Great canoe trip from Thomastown to Inistioge with Mike & Derry as our guides. Group of 12 adults and children. Youngest was 7 and we had no previous canoe experience. But the guides are really good. Felt safe throughout. Route is very scenic and there are afew rapids to make it exciting.

Mike was a great guide, we are local to Inistioge and really enjoyed Kayaking from Thomastown home. We have had sometime off this summer and decided to do local activities, this was by far our favourite. We are two adults and two teens and everyone will be happy to repeat in the near future. Best of luck Mike with rest of the season, Rich, Annette and boys

Mike and Derry were so accommodating to our group, allowing us to change over half way. We had the best day out and the tour was so well organised. Highly recommend this as an activity if you’re looking for something to do.

My wife and I had a great trip on the river. Mike had loads of information on the area, and we stopped at a lovely location with an old castle. It was really nice to get away from the traffic and it was so peaceful.
