A beautiful gem, tucked away behind the Majestic Hotel. We didn’t take the guided tour but the information and guides provided are very comprehensive. The gardens are gorgeous and my three yr old granddaughter was delighted with the fairy doors along the way. Each section of garden has a theme- I could have stayed all day! Wonderful tribute to a fascinating man!

Beautiful place, well worth a visit. The gardens are beautifully set out in such a small area. 👍🏻 Enjoyed the visit.

A hidden gem. The staff are absolutely lovely and very informative. I would definitely recommend to visit here. A little oasis of calm.

had a walk around the Japanese gardens, a hidden Gem in Tramore , very tranquil, the gardens are split into different areas, and are well kept, staff are very friendly and informative,
we had coffee and cakes at the gardens which where good too, would recommend visiting the gardens when in Tramore

I gave this lovely place a 5 star review on a previous visit four years ago and visited again today. It’s even better! The staff are still so helpful and informative, and the new developments such as the Tea House add to the interpretation of Lafcadio Hearn’s life. I won’t go into a detailed description as this would spoil the fascinating story and experience.

Our Guide Keith was so well-informed about Patrick Lafcadio Hearn - he brought the man to life and gave a wonderful explanation about the significance of each part of the garden. Lafcadio Hearn isn't well known in Ireland, but he should be. A marvellously interwoven story linking Ireland, the USA and Japan. They also have a lovely café and outside seating area. We had very high temperatures the day we visited and the cooling tree canopy was very welcome in such hot weather. Excellent day, well worth visiting!

A fantastic experience led by guide, Keith. His delivery of the journey of Lafcadio Hearn, and the history of the garden was excellent. I highly recommend a visit to the Lafcadio Hearn Gardens.

Where do I start. We were greeted by Keith our guide who made the whole experience so memorable with his knowledge and real love for Japanese culture. The tour was amazing and the gardens were stunning. Andrea greeted us to Plum wine(so nice). We walked the gardens and Keith told us stories of Lafcadio. When the tour of the garden was over we were treated to a gorgeous selection of Sushi and Plum wine. First time tasting Sushi and it was so tasty with a variety of flavours. Keith and Andrea were true hosts. They made the the day amazing and made us feel like royalty. If in Tramore book this special tour, you won't regret it..

We chanced upon the gardens and were we well pleased. The staff were delightful and despite the rain ( brolly supplied) the gardens were magnificent and really lifted the soul.
We topped off our visit with coffee and cake. Superb!

We spent about an hour walking around the Japanese gardens. The layout is fantastic and the staff are really friendly. €6 per adult and €3 per child. Highly recommend
