Zu meiner Militärzeit - die eigentlich noch gar nicht sooo lange zurück liegt, munkelte man über solche Festungsanlagen, die damals noch hochgeheim waren. Per "Zufall" wanderten wir hier vorbei und gönnten uns einen ausgiebigen Einblick mit Unterstützung eines geliehenen iPod. Fast unvorstellbar, in welch kurzer Zeit diese Anlage erstellt wurde und wie präzise mit den Karten gearbeitet werden konnte. Jeder Raum erzählt eine Geschichte, in der man sich sofort wiederfindet und versucht, die Umstände der damaligen Zeit zu begreifen. Dieser Ort ist mehr als nur ein Museum, es ist ein Zeitzeuge, der von einem Verein unter grossem Einsatz am Leben erhalten bleibt und der Bevölkerung zugänglich gemacht wird.
Wer sich für die jüngere Geschichte des Landes und deren damaligen strategischen Überlegungen interessiert, dem sei ein Besuch dieser Festungsanlage sehr zu empfehlen.
Eine kleine Anekdote am Rande, welches für die Schweiz nicht typischer sein könnte, wird gleich am Eingang erzählt: Als ein Bundesrat und damaliger Chef des Militärdepartements (notabene höchster Militär des Landes...) die Festung inspizieren wollte, wurde ihm der Zugang verweigert, weil er das Passwort nicht kannte.
Wer sich für die jüngere Geschichte des Landes und deren damaligen strategischen Überlegungen interessiert, dem sei ein Besuch dieser Festungsanlage sehr zu empfehlen.

La visita è molto interessante dal punto di vista storico, con tutto il materiale usato un tempo ancora visibile e mantenuto in stato ineccepibile. La struttura è visitabile in tutti i suoi meandri, con numerose scalinate che portano sui vari livelli del bunker, e sono visibili tutti i dettagli , compreso pezzi di artiglieria e accantonamenti. La visita è accessibile solo in parte a persone disabili, e richiede un abbigliamento adatto( temperatura interna molto fresca)sono tuttavia disponibili dei cappotti militari originali per coprirsi durante la perlustrazione. Il locale mensa è riscaldato, dove si può bere o mangiare pasti semplici. Adatto a giornate piovose, tutto il percorso è all' interno. Atmosfera militare garantita!!!

Kaum einsehbar lohnt sich der Abstecher von der Autostrasse für dieses Museum. Unvorstellbar in welch kurzer Zeit solch unzählige Gänge in den Fels gehauen wurden. Absolut sehenswert und interessant, wie man sich damals verteidigen wollte.

Was der Verein hier auf die Beine stellt, ist grossartig. Man erfährt sehr viel Wissenswertes über die Zeit im 2.Weltkrieg und kann sich in die damalige Lage hineinversetzen. Die Informationen sind super. Dieses lange geheim gehaltene Artilleriewerk ist sehenswert. Auch die Gerstensuppe im Stübli ist super.

Uno dei "segreti" svizzeri reso pubblico. Una meraviglia di ingegneria lasciata in funzione da volontari innamorati di questa struttura. Gentilissimo il signore poliglotta all'ingresso che ti illustra cosa potrai vedere all'interno. Molto interessante anche la mostra dedicata ai bombardieri americani caduti sul suolo svizzero durante la II Guerra Mondiale (con foto ,resti di aereo e filmati d'epoca). Molto ben fatta l'audioguida in italiano,indispensabile per apprendere fino in fondo anche i dettagli della vita all'interno. Consigliatissima anche per i bambini.

Visitei dia 17/11/2015 o outono europeu traz uma das paisagens mais bonitas que já vi em toda minha vida! Preste atenção nos mínimos detalhes presentes na cordilheira montanhosa, pouca neve e beleza esplendorosa.

Step back in time and learn about this interesting military fort. Built in the second world war , it was self contained and housed a number of military . It is a museum now and contains everything from that time period - weapons, accommodation etc . There is a coffee shop and some interesting photo opportunities

Or any afternoon, but as its all inside and the temperature never changes - while the weather certainly does - it's a great option for a rainy day.
Reasonable entry fee, operated by enthusiasts and really well put together exhibits, easy iPod based audio guides in English, Italian and German available.
Good selection of weapons to look at, the bomber exhibition was fascinating.
Not suitable for wheelchairs etc. but anyone who can manage a few stairs will be fine.
We really enjoyed it.

This is a fortress well worth visiting. The whole complex is in original condition, cannons, machine guns, rifles and all. You will learn why it was built, how the fire control system functioned, how the cannon and machine gun positions were served, how the garrison lived - and were bored. The highlights of of a the garrison daily routine were mealtimes, which were of good hotel standard, but underground.
You should invest the extra few francs in the audio guide. This is available in german. english and italian. It provides facts and figures, and an insight into what life was like for a soldier serving in this fortress.
The route to the fortress is well signposted with the brown signposts - thus making it easy to find. There is free parking available at the fortress entrance,
One last thing: the original garrison cantine is still in service, so there is no need to leave the fortress hungry or thirsty.
