We decided to take advantage of the Greta weather and hired 2 X double kayaks for 2hours.
Was great value and super fun activity for the kids 9 & 12. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the best route to take according to the tides etc.
Cute little icecream shack as a reward afterwards.

My other half and daughter hired a boat for two hours. There was luckily a boat available last minute. Staff were accommodating, patient and helpful providing map, lifejackets and good cheer. Good to see locals employed. Caught fish. Will return.

The Dunbogan Boatshed Cafe is a hidden gem in the sleepy town of Dunbogan by the river. It is very relaxing sipping on coffee and a snack while watching the life on the river and boats passing by.
Be warned though, seating is limited and only outside and can fill up very quickly on weekends - probably best to visit on a quite weekday. This place is very popular and good reason to be so.
One of the tables has a little kiddies slide going into the shallow clear water of the river, which looks like a lot of fun for a 5-10 year old.

The view over the river was good but that's about where all the good points ended. My wife and I ordered Fillos and drinks. Our drinks arrived but not the Fillos. After 5 minutes, an enquiry at the counter resulted in the male staff member who had delivered our drinks stating that he thought that was all that we had ordered. So by the time we got our Fillos they were lukewarm at best. Overall not really impressed although the location promised lots but undelivered.

We stopped here for morning tea and enjoyed a nice coffee and delicious citrus tart. The Boatshed has inside and outside dining. We sat on the outside deck which is over water. There is fish food available for $1 and the fish lie in wait off the deck. Staff were polite and courteous and parking was easy. Would call in again if passing by.

Dropped in for lunch. Had hot chocolate, coffee and 2 types of chicken filos. Then finished off with citrus tart and pecan tart. Everything was delicious. Chicken filos had heaps of chicken. Friendly staff. Great location. Good value. Good COVID safety measures.

Enjoyed a nice coffee here sitting outside in the early morning sunshine. Nice pastry too. Only gripe is the paper cups - argh! But definitely a great value-add for Dunbogan.

How clever to turn an old boasted into a coffee shop as well. The locals love it and so did we. A brilliant spot to have coffee and the coffee and cakes are up to scratch as is the service. Sit on the deck right on the water and watch the boats bobbing up and down. Doesn't get much better than this.

Accessible venue - we came with a pram and it was a breeze to order and find a spot to enjoy the view. Beautiful authentic building, friendly staff and several locals enjoying a coffee and a chat. Have a look at the back, you might see a school of fish! All sorts of fishing gear and boat rental along with the coffee shop.

Perched over the picturesque Camden Haven river and facing the beautiful 500metre tall North Brother mountain, is the 1937 white weatherboard Dunbogan Boatshed. The menu is simple, great coffee and treats. There is a small selection of cakes,slices ( including vegan) pies and fresh Vietnamese rice paper rolls. There's a sweet and separate little ice cream stall ( Charlee's) also on site. You can arrive at The Boatshed via kayak,car or from following the partially completed Beach to Beach Pathway on foot or by bike from Laurieton or North Haven.
There's a little sandy beach at low tide that the kids love to play on,the Boatshed staff even provide buckets and spades.
Feeding the hundreds of fish from the deck is a treat and makes for great photos. Fishfood is 3 containers for $2.00.
