Water slides have been totally removed and a new seasonal camping resort is being built. It's called Grand Palms RV Resort. We'll have to wait to see what it turns into. Looks interesting so far.

My son was hurt there last year. Lifeguards were too busy on their phones to realize he smashe is head on the concrete of one of the pools. When I confronted them, they didn't seem to care. This place should stay closed.

Stopped by this summer during our holidays, unfortunately the facility was closed, hopefully they will be back up & running next year, great spot to spend a sunny afternoon, kids of all ages will enjoy themselves, food stand could use more options, fries are prepared from frozen but tasty, looking forward to net year, try the Bullet if you have the nerve, you move pretty fast if you are over 200 lbs, enjoy!

It was so nice to see that it was back in service again. Is always a great way to spend the day if the weather was cooperating .

My family had previously preferred these waterslides but this year's annual visit marks our last. It has majorly gone downhill. 2 out of the 4 bigger kid slides were broken down for the day. The hot tub has been taken out and replaced with a little splash pad. The water was previously heated but with the removal of the hot tub I guess they choose to avoid heating costs and leave the water running icy cold from the hose instead, leaving customers nowhere to warm up. Many people couldn't make it down a slide without getting stuck. Lack of water pressure and old slides seem to be a real problem. My husband went on 2 slides, I chose to not slide since the line ups were so big due to lack of proper maintainence, the kids were bored of the 2 slides and wanted to leave early. The place is in poor repair and needs some drastic help or I don't see it sticking around much longer. Don't bother wasting your money. Go elsewhere.

I as well bought a groupon for Turtle Tides. Sure wish I would have checked TripAdvisor first before I made the purchase. Thankfully it only cost me $40.

It was the most disappointing family outing I've ever taken my kids on. In fact I continually apologized to them and said I'd make it up to them next summer by taking them to Fun Mountain.

The water park does look pretty run down. Like others have said concrete isn't in the best shape, nor are the slides. They are stained or worn down which I thought made the slides less slick resulting in a slower ride down. Most of the framing is wood and honestly looks pretty shoddy and dangerous.

There are 4 slides that would be used by adults and kids probably 8+ years old. The other slides are for younger kids. Within an hour or so of being there two slides were shut down for the day. So there were only 2 adult slides left to use. One being the bullet. Which if you are an adult, you are likely going to fly down there so heads up. To go down the slide though you have to have a mat. To bad they don't have lots on hand, so expect to wait in line for one and then wait again at the top. Even on the other slide you had to use a mat or tube and again they didn't have that many so again you were waiting.

And yes the water is cold. It must come from the lake so I guess they can't be faulted for that. But heads up. The big complaint I had about water was that the water coming down the slide wasn't enough. People were coming down the slides really slow (other than the bullet). Often I saw people having to push them selves along just to get down.

In the end I went on 1 slide, my wife went on none, my daughter probably went less than 10 times and my son went 7 times. Day was nothing short of a disappointment.

If I could find anything positive about the Turtle tides it would have to be that they allow you to bring in a packed lunch. Wish Fun Mountain allowed that.

We had a Groupon for $40 for a family of 4 people to go to the waterslides. Biggest mistake we ever made. The place is a dump!! Sidewalks chipping and falling apart and NOT cleaned up so you are tracking small bits and chunks of concrete on your feet. The water is well water so it's dang cold. It's not treated water or there wouldn't be any red and brown iron deposits (which are everywhere on the slides). The structure itself looks like it was painted by a couple cans of spray paint. There is no pride in this establishment. The staff are COMPLETELY uninterested in anything that is going on which seems to be a reoccurring theme from other reviews. This is a major safety issue where they are more worried about their next text or cell phone call than their patrons.

Certain tubes and mats are for certain rides, but you have to guess which ones are for which since there are no signs indicating it. The rides themselves are nothing to write home about. Half the time you are pushing yourself through to get to the bottom, that is if you can feel any of your extremities due to the near freezing water temperatures.....and this was in 30C weather too! The grounds have no drainage so you're walking through mud and sludge.

The new owner(s) seem to have no interest in running a viable business. It's more like take the money and run. And it's not cheap if you don't have a coupon expect to pay alot more than $40 for a family of 4. If you look at the other review, this place started falling apart when the new ownership took over. I am extremely disappointed that we spent gas getting out here and then $40 for admission. I wouldn't go again if i was offered it for free. What a dumpy hole this place is.

I have not been to a water park in years so when I was told we were going to Turtle Tide Water Slides, I was expecting to see a similar, if not a better, version of the water park I had in mind. One look at this place from across the parking lot and I knew I was in for a letdown. It looked shabby and cheap, as if they ran out of construction budget but decided to open for business anyway.

We were here on July 23, a Thu. We had free admission tickets which was a good thing or we would have shelled out $120+tax for our group of 8 (admission: $15.95 8yrs-up, $12.50 3-7yrs, free under 2yrs).

We arrived at 12:30PM (park opens at 11AM) to find all 10 frame tents already occupied so we just settled on a picnic table near the cashier/reception area. Fortunately it was a cloudy day or we would have been sunburnt to a crisp. It started to rain around 1:30PM so we carried our bags and took shelter beside the cashier’s area. While there we asked one of the staff if perhaps there was a picnic umbrella we could borrow, luckily they had one (only one?) now at least our bags were safe from getting wet. At 2PM we transferred to a vacated tent when a group of people near us left.

There were 7 water slides: 4 for grown-ups/big kids and 3 body slides for small kids. Obviously the really popular slides were the 4 big ones: River Run (family-friendly; can accommodate single/double/3-person tubes), Bullet (speed slide; could reach 75kph), Twister and Cyclone. During our visit, the crowd was manageable so we never had to wait a long time at the slides. We actually had some fun... just had to overlook a lot of the negatives and focus on enjoying ourselves.

The bad news… The water slides were old, stained and in need of restoration work. The supporting structures were mostly wood with peeling white paint. Landing pool water was brownish and dirty from the soil and grass tracked onto the slides. There was no wading pool for cooling off, just 2 sad-looking fountains. In the changing rooms, individual cubicles had neither hooks nor shelves on which to hang or put dry/wet clothes, not even a floating bench to sit on. There were no paper towels and the hand dryer did not work. The communal shower located right in front of the changing rooms only spewed cold water – I did not see anyone use it at all. We tried to rinse here but the water was just too cold and the lack of privacy was a turn off.

The only good thing I could say about this place was that food and drinks (no alcohol) could be brought in. Our group did not bring much as ours was not a well-planned outing so we still got food from the snack bar.

We left at past-4PM since the park had to close early due to risk of thunder showers. As we were leaving I noticed their gift shop with souvenir t-shirts on display right beside the entrance/exit. I think they should first focus on improving their existing facilities before selling souvenir merchandise.

I very much enjoyed this Waterslide when it was called Thunder Mountain. However I went today and I was dissapointed in some of the changes I noticed to this waterslide park under new ownership.

The hot tub that was so great for warming up if the day was a little cold was filled with concrete so it no longer exists. (To save money on maintenance and the cost of running the tub?)

The water going down the slides is now quite brown whereas it was nice and clean previously.

Most of the water was quite cold.

In addition, taped on the window at the concession stand was a large badly printed handwritten note in black marker on orange paper. It was written by staff and
asked customers to be generous with the TIP jar because they were "students trying to make a living". Seriously? The entrance fee we paid and the cost of refreshments was still not enough to pay the staff an adequate wage?? Management must have been o.k. with the sign because it was up the whole time we were there. I dunno, I just thought it looked tacky.

For me the glory days of this waterslide park ended when it was taken over by the current owner. I won't be going back.
