Wonderful local attraction in a village setting. Great pubs ( The Crown, Millstone ) nearby as well.

I love this place for a long walk in the summer, really interesting to see all the history and ruins, the shop is very good too! would definitely recommend

We had our wedding here on 4th June. After having had to postpone our big day twice due to COVID, and having had bad experiences with another venue, we couldn't be more glad that we decided to go with Basing House as our venue. David and Kirstie were amazing throughout the preparations, and made sure our wedding was everything we wanted and more. The venue itself is just stunning, and made for a beautiful place to have our fairytale day. We couldn't be more appreciative of everything that Basing House did for us, and how special our day was as a result.

Lovely walk by the xansl, near to Basing House, plenty of historical ruins. Lovely shop and very helpful staff. Good value as the ticket you purchase entitles you to any return visit within the year purchased.

Visited the castle for a weekend whilst camping with friends from ECWS, good to be able to look around during the day, did not explore after dusk.

Interesting place, plenty to see in the grounds. It is a place we often go to for sniffer dog training. Plenty of places for people to hide (and be found), Not crowded at all. Very accessible for all.

There is not a hugh amount to see but equally it is not expensive to get in. This is a great place to have a wander after a pub lunch. Friendly staff and a great Lego model.

We had to book to visit online which was easy. Once you have a ticket you can visit for a year for free. We really enjoyed the day and it was bigger than we thought to visit. The staff are really friendly. There was a guide who spoke to us in depth about the history of Basing House, which was very interesting. There was a reenactment day on with soldiers with muskets and pikes. We watched them do a demonstration. The cafe lady was so friendly and helpful. She made us tea & served us cake. She even found us 2 chairs and a table, when there was no seating outside left. We had a great day and will bring a picnic when we visit next time.

Very quite attraction in Old Basing village surrounded with lots of footpath for walks in the village.We did learnt a lot of history on our visit and the kids really enjoyed Basing house.We also took the time to spend a great time at the village,looking at beautiful architectural cottages.

Been a few times. Not lots to see if you are expecting a castle or stately home. If you like walking there are lots of different parts of the old buildings to be seen, mostly at ground level. Small museum next to walled garden and a very impressive restored barn across the road showing civil war damage to walls. The ticket you buy allows entry for a year so good value if you live or visit near. They have quite a few events over the year like civil war re-enactments.
