So it had been a while since I had gone on one of my adventures, but when I did my first stop of the day was at Buckland Farm Market. I wanted to pick up some of the plantain chips they have however they were out. I did pick up a perfect medium sweet onion which I needed and a yummy loaf of cinnamon crunch bread. The produce is always super fresh and the baked goods are plentiful. Just wish they had my chips.

While in Warrenton, we decided to visit this market and were glad we did. So many items to choose from. The staff were so friendly. I wish I had taken some pictures.

Wonderful farm market. Great variety of goodies - fresh farm eggs, cheese, local honey, local jam, and much more. The staff is super friendly. You feel like family when you come in!

My wife and I stopped for the first time at Buckland as part of our early-fall search for pumpkins and gourds. Even in early October, Buckland appeared to have a good selection of pumpkins - no small feat, considering how much damage this summer’s heavy rains had done to pumpkin crops in the region. But the store also had a nice array of baked goods, cheeses, preserves, and sauces (we bought some of each, plus a rich and spicy Cajun crab dip). The staff were friendly and attentive; when we eyed the ham biscuits that were placed by the cash register, the staffer offered on her own to get fresher biscuits on the other side of the checkout counter. We’ll make this a regular stop for future drives along Route 29.

It seems to me that Buckland really does their best busy during the summer months as people want fresh produce and baked goodies. I am happy to report that they have not done any further renovations to the place, so everything was where I knew it was. I grabbed a loaf of their berry bread (so moist) and three bags of their plantains. I was tempted by some of the produce, but decided it would not do well in my car all day with how hot it was going to be. The lady at the register appeared to be new, but she was warm and quick with getting me out. Always a joy to stop at.

I visit this market every time I stay with my daughter in VA. The fresh veggies are always good looking and tasting, the selection of specialty flours, spices, and candies and canned fruits and jellies is huge and has something for everyone. There is also a wonderful selection of baked goods and an ice cream counter. My favorite thing, however, is their country ham biscuit! Be sure to try one when you stop!

I enjoyed my visit quite a lot. Delicious pies. Competitive prices on produce. Large enough to hold other groceries. Unexpected treasure in this place. Worth a look for sure.

I visited Buckland Farm Market on a beautiful Saturday morning and they were on the busy side compared with my two previous visits. I am really digging the huge open room layout and everything was in the same place so I was able to find what I wanted. The ladies at the cash register are just so friendly and I had a nice chat with the lady who helped me (about the recipe I was planning to make; like talking to an old friend). I really like going here and will continue to go back.
