Si tratta di una bellissima zona per fare una passeggiata, vedere il tramonto o bere qualcosa in un bar, ma non vi consigliamo di andarci se siete in cerca di una spiaggia. Se volete fare un bagno su una spiaggia di sabbia, a pochi metri troverete balluta bay, molto più adatta allo scopo.

Very nice place with Lots of Restaurants and terraces. Clone to Balluta Bay, St Georges Bay the Spinola Bay is exzellent for spending relax evenings. People are very friendly.👍👍

There is a lot of life here on the promenade with plenty of opportunities to eat, drink or just hang out. In the evening it is beautifully lit and even in January the weather is warm and sunny.

My family and I have been coming to Spinola Bay for years as it is very peaceful and there are lots of areas to sit at.
One thing that I have noticed about here this year is the number of Asian Hornets around there, which kept on bothering us when we sat on the benches.
The bay is really close to many hotels in St Julian’s but it isn’t my favourite bay in Malta.

Super friendly , welcoming resort . It was a little cool but we did a lot of walking and swimming which was appreciated and much warmer than the UK. We did a few trips which was lovely .Valletta was our favourite . An amazing, beautiful little city . Castrated in pinks vaguely which was lovely . We visited the blue lagoon and Gozo which was beautiful. The Hilton spinola was an excellent stay

We arrived in about 20min to this square. The last stretch after Balluta square is under scorching sun with scarce trees that could make shade and no benches, so I recommend stopping often before and equipping yourself with water..... I was curious to see the Love monument on the contrary, cute ok, but nothing that, even the beach...... I expected a lot much more.....

Beautiful bay, you can sit by the crystal clear waters and read / have a drink. I popped into Gululu for an aperol spritz and tried their meatballs - highly recommend. It wasn’t too touristy at the time I visited and the blue skies made it very picturesque.

C'è la possibilità di fare un giro in barca o traghetto?

È possibile con barca privata. Sia individualmente che in piccoli gruppi. Chiedere al Porto o telefonare ai numeri che si trovano di solito sulle barche. Traghetti non mi risultano in partenza da lì.

Ciao, io la settimana prossima andro' a Malta, e pernotto in un hotel a San Giuliano... C'e' la spiaggia? o e' solo porticciolo da come vedo dalle foto? Mi potresti dare dei consigli su cosa fare, dove andare e cosa vedere partendo da San Giuliano? Grazie

Ciao, a Malta l'unico punto dove trovi una spiaggia, con sabbia, nel vero senso della parola, è verso Saint Paul (con il bus che costeggia l'isola e passa per San Giuliano, ci puoi arrivare).
Altrimenti, a Spinola Bay c'è un pezzetto di "spiaggia" ma diciamo che è proprio piccolo e si riempie in fretta.
San Giuliano è un bel punto in cui pernottare, hai bus che vanno a La Valletta e verso l'aeroporto, e verso Anchor Bay (dove c'è il Popeye Village, molto carino, a mio avviso vale la visita!)
Molto carina, a pochi passi da San Giuliano, trovi Sliema, da cui puoi prendere anche il traghetto per arrivare a La Valletta, in circa 10 minuti. Facendo La card abbonamento dei bus (che ti consiglio, risparmi e i bus si usano moltissimo in giro per Malta, soprattutto se vuoi girare l'isola. Puoi fare la card direttamente prima di uscire dall'aeroporto), il traghetto è solo suggestivo, e lo si fa almeno una volta, per godersi il panorama (costo andata 1.50€, andata/ritorno 2.80€).

can you swim in the bay or is it more of a harbour for boats? if not, how far away is the nearest beach to sunbathe/swim? thanks

Noo, it's better not to swim there (but noone will stop you lol). The nearest beach is located in Paceville (close to the local mall). But I strongly advise you to go to Golden Bay (its not more than 20 km) and it's a really magic place! Sandy beach, beautiful sea and quite a lovely bistrot on the beach! Enjoy Malta!

Not far at all. Technically outside your door. I stayed at the Hilton. The promenade is 5 minutes away. You can walk 2 to 3 miles along the promenade. Wonderful restaurants and shops along the way. Enjoy!
