As a group of retired or semi retired people we have started a group to explore our industrial heritage and this was our first visit. We were welcomed by James who gave a fascinating talk, demonstrated the large pump engine and then was on hand to explain the other exhibits. We all enjoyed ourselves (despite feeling old remembering when we had vacuum cleaners like those on display!).
The food in the tea bar was excellent, served by great staff and reasonably priced.
We all had a great time, the staff are wonderful and most are planning a repeat visit with grand children, etc

The last time we visited Langford must have been 10 or more years ago. As Easter Friday was lovely weather, we thought we'd pay a visit. The museum itself was very quiet, so we were able to get round fairly quickly and take a few photos. Nothing seems to have changed in the intervening years. I know the museum is staffed and run by an army of volunteers, many of whom are advanced in their years, but many of the exhibits are looking very tired and in desperate need of some TLC
Then as it was coming up to lunch time we popped into the Cafeteria for a bite to eat, only to be told there would be an hour's wait for any food, even a sandwich. So we had a pot of tea, even though we only wanted two cups (so many places do this) and a couple of biscuits, costing £8, then made our way home after being there for about an hour. We weren't the only ones
I assume the cafeteria is run as a concession, but their high prices will surely put people off going. It's a shame, as the museum will ultimately suffer.

Visited one afternoon. Lots of working equipment and things to read about. Very pleasant staff who are volunteers. On site cafe which looked very good but had just had lunch so didn't try it. Wrap up warm as it was cold inside in December.

Interesting, especially the Lilleshall pumping engine. Not a massive amount to see and some of exhibits had rather annoying notices detracting from viewing things as per photo attached. Also things had been pushed out of the way for kids play areas and tables to be set up with colouring books and stuff. I sound like a right grinch but could easily be tidied a bit so adults can view things properly.
Lots of things for kids to press and see motors working but quite a few were out of action and perhaps could do with a bit more explanation of some of the key aspects of each item.
Nice cafe with pleasant inside and outside seating area.

Another great steampunk event on Sunday, much better choice of food stalls this year, but only half the amount of seating, hopefully next year you will have double the amount of seating and more.

I've been meaning to visit this museum since moving locally a year ago, wow I'm pleased I did! It's brilliant, really informative and full of interactive exhibits. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I was lucky enough to see the main exhibit in action which is a real treat. The cafe serves amazing cake and sandwiches, I'd recommend the egg mayo and cream tea! I cannot fault this place one bit and will certainly be back! A brilliant way to spend a glorious sunny afternoon.

Great fun. This is a ‘who done it’ evening and the monies support the museum.
The staff were as friendly, professional and welcoming as ever. With a good turn out, I’d say about 40 guests? Entrance was restricted, standing outside queueing in the cold is not the best start. When we were eventually allowed inside it was straight into an ice breaker with us guests going around feeling small bags that were attached to the ladies, working out and writing down what you thought was inside i.e. bottle cap etc. There is a small bar which caters for most needs. A few guests being roped into roll play, the clues begin. We were then sat at tables placed in the main pump room, bit cramped but clean. The two players who ran the murder mystery were loud enough when facing you, mostly confused our table attempted to stumble through it, maybe just me!? The starter, tomato soup, arrived cold. With more murder mystery rhetoric between courses. We did find it a mystery! The main course, pie and chips, now this would have approved of heat, sadly again cold. The players are now working very hard, loudly trying desperately to hold the plot together especially with the exploitation of the roped in guests, who amusingly for the thankful seated, looked totally befuddled, having the grinning expression of people who are questioning life, particularly, why they are stood there in a undersized hat being enthusiastically shouted at by the frustrated Sherlock. After being energetically run several times around the room by staff. Apple pie & custard landed, yep you guessed. The cold food being my only negative! Hot food sadly failed miserably to hit our table!
However, the evening as a whole entertains and was absolute great fun, confusing, but good clean enjoyment. The museum staff are lovely. I find myself wanting to go back again.

Visited the museum when they were hosting ‘Transportfest’
It was a nice sunny day, signage and car parking well organised as was the entrance. Very many vintage cars, motorbikes and other vehicles all well lined up for viewing. Lots of stalls selling food, drink, memorabilia, etc and things for young kids to do.
There was also an experience to fly a WW1 plane using VR. Talking to the operators this is unique experience, nothing like it anywhere else.
The museum itself had the massive ‘Lillehall’ steam pump and other various vintage engines operating, plus had Meccano, model railways and other exhibits.
We has a snack at the Steam Pump tea room, but it took quite some time to be served and it was a little pricey.

Wonderful interactive museum, a real gem, not that far from me and a total surprise discovery when driving somewhere else!
Well worth looking at the variety of dosplays many of which are interactive.
Need to go back to see the largest engine running

I don't normally write reviews but really wanted to express what a great day my boys and their friends had today at the Museum. It was our first visit despite living near and I will be back. So many interactive displays to try and fiddle with (a relief with a very active 4 year old). There were also lots of half term crafts for them to do from stone painting, spring crowns and bunting. My son lost me at one point and the staff were so helpful and reassuring to him. Outside the boys enjoyed running around the miniature train track (not working today) and playing in the tyres, tunnels, Pooh sticks and generally being boys. There is a great picnic area but we also enjoyed the cafe at the end of the day for a cream tea (scones lovely) and a sit down. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming in every part of the museum, from the cafe to the reception to the craft tables in the main museum. Thank you for keeping such an informative and child friendly museum going. I will also be recommending to my son's primary school for a trip. We spent 5 hours there and the boys didn't want to leave!

Hi, sorry we haven't answered this sooner. We are open as normal (Wednesday to Sunday) until Sunday 17th December, we then close until our Crank Up event on New Years Day. We are closed for the rest of January for maintenance work. The tea room will be operating in January but not the Museum.
