I've lived in and around the Burntwood area most of my life.
Chasewater was a great place to go for all the family when I was a toddler.
At the Pool Lane entrance there was a coarse/fine sand beach area.
It would be packed on a sunny week end with folk swimming, paddling their inflatable 'boats', eating picnics etc.
When I was 10/12 years old, lots of kids would swim out to the ski jump and have a good laugh for hours, jumping off into the water.
Over the decades, the greedy have slowly, but surely, taken over this place.
Now it is a tired place, with lockable toilets that are closed at 3pm, yet the car park (fee payable nowadays) doesn't shut until 6pm this time of year.
The Chase sailing club and their ilk are resposible for spoiing the fun.
The water level has been raised, swamping the 'beach' area, stopping any families that dare to want a pleasurable day on the sands.
Signs are everywhere. This water is DANGEROUS, NO SWIMMING, LAUNCHING BOATS ETC ETC.
Nothing to do with danger of course, they just don't want THEIR waters contaminated by the common folk.
Apparently, becoming a member of the Chase sailing club makes you immune to the dangers that lurk beneath. Amazing huh?
The waterlogged pathways are a mess, and, amazingly, the paths hug the waters edge until they gently steer you away from the Chase sailing club, hidden away by the trees and foliage.
Anyone would think this was done purposely, surely not?
There are more obscure paths that you could take but the signs 'encourage' you to stick to the main path.
Chasewater was once a lovely place, where you were free to enjoy all it had to offer, however, as usual, those with the resources have claimed it for themselves using the 'health and safety' mantra.

Great find for a walk and nice that there are cafes and toilets all the way round. My only slight criticism was there weren't many sign posts about for where to go. Other than that will defo be going back.

We live near Chasewater and walk our dogs there 3 to 4 times a week. My wife and I have seen the park go through many changes over the past several years. One of the best, in my opinion, has been the addition of The Shed. Not only does it serve the finest coffee anywhere around but the owners are genuinely nice people who run a flawless business. Don't be put off if there's a queue when you're passing by. They're fast, efficient, always happy to see you and give your dog a treat. The only complaint we have is it's seasonal and closed during the week through the winter. We look forward to making it our daily stop again when the weather improves.

Visited chasewater innovation centre cafe on Tuesday 31st August 2021 and the toilets.
Two toilets blocked, toilet paper All over the floor. Clearly just opened up toilets and not cleaned them as we were early visiting.
No toilet paper in any holders.
More worried about what other nasty germs were lurking than covid.
If you are going to charge for parking provide proper, maintained facilities for your customers and visitors

Today I went for a walk with my brother, his other half and my daughter over chase water, clear my head after loosing a family member the day before.
1st small issue was the parking meters, change only but didn't accept anything less than a 10p so I was stuck what to do, nice passer by helped me resolve this.
Main issue was the event that unfolded just after,
I passed the new ice cream store and as we was walking passed the mini golf we noticed a small crowd around a little girl so I went to check it out.
A 2 year old girl in distress had her whole leg stuck down one of the course holes ( the one with the hill, which then has a 2ft drop on to a lower section of the course)
Mon and dad was handling it so well, I did what I could to comfort the little girl while we waited for the paramedics.
After analysing the situation we dicided to try free her as she was massively uncomfortable, so I decided to run to the ice cream store to ask for a pole/stick or something sturdy and long to try release the girls foot from the bottom of the whole (I explained the situation) and was offered a coffee stirring stick.
I took it upon myself, accepting any responsibility to take the metal pole with a flag on the end to try and help the girl out, at this point I'd of done anything to help that girl out. I took the pole 40 yards to the scene when we was swiftly approached by the manager screaming what the **** do you think your doing, I said stop, look at the girl, we are trying to help her and you pole was the closest thing we could find to help the situation.. She then stated in front of the little girl, I couldn't give a flying **** give me my flag it cost me £100.
The mom and another woman explained again the situation, she screamed more foul language and snatched the flag out my hand and stormed off. By the way this mini golf is managed by this woman too which is absolutely SHOCKING.
Fire brigade came 10 minutes later after several attempts the help her, did an amazing job and she was free in no time.
Mom, dad, strangers and emergency services was grand.
As for the bulldog of a woman who runs that place I advice you avoid lining the pockets of that pig.

We went here to ride on the railway. Great place, great day out. BUT….the car park ticket machines have had the card payments disabled and there is no phone or app option, and only coins are accepted. After a 2 hour journey we did not need to waste half an hour trying to buy a drink on site to get change for the machine. But we managed it in the end, had a nice lunch at the railway’s cafe, a nice train ride and a nice walk by the lake.

Always a lovley visit! I like going here, the atmosphere of the place reminds me of childhood. It lovley to see family sitting having picnics, feeding the large array of ducks, geese and swans and enjoying the outdoors in a sage happy environment.
There's a little cafe, mini golf, water activities, play ground and an ice cream van!
I had a great picnic here and didn't feel intruded upon by others 🌱

The toilets are not very nice and they close them at 3pm. There was no toilet paper and the one toilet didn't flush. No way to dry hands either. My previous visit pre-covid the toilets were bad then too.

Hi There
I am looking to hire a 5-6 birth caravan somewhere around Chasewater Country Park for 2 Month (from mid February till April). Our renewable energy company has a project in Cannock so if you know somebody or something please let me know info@getgreen-solutions (co.uk)
or on 07402440615
Thank you so much

Try silver birches caravan park, this is also a campsite nearby if you supply your own van etc. I hope this helps.
