Fun day cooking and EATING in the jungle!
Spent another day at Mexico Lindo with Alejandra , learning, stirring, chopping, tasting, and enjoying excellent Vera Cruz fish and all the trimmings! You truly feel you are a guest in her home. She and her foundation are working hard to help the community with gardening improvements. We had a group of 8 and was wonderful!

Family with teens enjoyed
Excellent day spent with Ale. Great to learn the authentic dishes and the complex history of Mexican gastronomy. Truly delicious feast at the end.

Undeniabley the best food I have ever had

I have eaten all over Mexico and the world. I can say with complete confidence that this meal is by far the best food I have ever eaten. Words cannot describe the flavours that Chef Rosalia Chay Chuc puts into her food. I will not even try because I cannot do it justice. It was so incredible. She invites people into her home, educates us on Mayan food and cooking and so much more. It is an experience one must do. I will do it again. Thank you Chef Rosalia for inviting us into your home.

Fantastic!!!!
This was a fantastic class! We learned so much more than expected. Chef is so knowledgeable and explained techniques, history, ingredients, etc. In an entertaing and easy to understand way. FOOD we prepared was incredible. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys cooking and Mexican food!

I have been to 2 other cooking classes in Montreal , lots of fun but nothing compared to this amazing experience.From the moment we arrived I knew this was no ordinary cooking class. The location is magical & the decor whimsical. Alejandra is not only a great chef, but an amazing hostess. Felt like she was welcoming us into her home.She is so interesting & shares her knowledge of culture, gardens & food. We learned how to cook Mexican food,as well as how to chop properly and some general cooking basics, that I was unaware of. Shout out to the 2 sous chefs who helped with some of the prep & preparing the dishes for presentation, I would highly recommend this unforgettable experience & can’t wait to try out the receipes when we get back to the UK.

Fabulous culinary and cultural experience

We had a really great time at this cooking class and would highly recommend it to fellow travelers! My husband and I are foodies and we knew we wanted to do a cooking class on our vacation. We made our reservations at Mexico Lindo way ahead of time to make sure we had a spot! When we arrived at the cooking school, we were amazed at how picturesque it is, and I really appreciated how they use bright color throughout the property. It truly feels like a little oasis. We started the day with pastries, marmalade, Mexican coffee, and special hot chocolate. Yum! We toured the organic garden, which was definitely a highlight for me as a fellow gardener. In the kitchen, we cooked a whole suite of salsas, stuffed peppers, carnitas, sweet tamales, and more. Chef gave us a thorough lesson in how to use a knife properly, which was super helpful. At the end of the day, we all shared the fruits of our labor and everything was delicious! The chef was a fantastic host and teacher, and the staff were all very friendly. The property was clean and beautiful. The menu was extremely thoughtful and you can tell that a lot of love went into planning the meal and the whole business, overall. I’d highly recommend this experience! One logistical thing to note for travelers— our class did go a bit long, which was a great bonus but also a bit stressful because we had planned our cab ride ahead of time and felt really bad that our driver had to sit and wait while we enjoyed our meal. I’d recommend waiting to plan transportation or giving yourself a little extra time. There is free Wi-Fi on the property so it would be easy to contact a cab driver before the meal starts, for example.
We had an awesome day and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be back to try out another menu!!

Freshest, best tamales we've ever had - and we made them!

Our family of 3 spent a fun and relaxing Friday with Chef Alejandra and a few other guests in her beautiful kitchen in the Riveria Maya. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! We took the Mexican Antojitos (small plates) cooking class. We prepared delicious, traditional tamales verdes, chicken tinga, ranch style beans, and other dishes. We also learned proper knife skills (I can't believe I've been using my chef's knife incorrectly for >50 years!), learned how to prepare beans and vegetables so that they produce less gas, and toured Chef Alejandra’s beautiful garden where she grows the fruits, vegetables, and herbs used in her classes. And you get to eat everything you prepare! Trust me, you won’t go away hungry! Chef Alejandra is so kind and warm. We all had a great time - even our college age son who wasn’t sure about taking a cooking class. Overall, highly recommended!

Classic Heritage Mexican cooking
Very professionally run class . Many tips on preparation and also the Why of doing things in such a way. Quite a bit of standing time while preparing but laid back enough to step out for a break when needed. Wonderful “ in the jungle” location. Recommend to serious people that want to know the heritage and how to of Mexican cooking.

Extraordinary Culinary Adventure

Our culinary adventure with Rosalia Chay Chuc in Yaxunah, Yucatan was a delight! Learning about the history and techniques of Mayan cooking was informative and enjoyable. Host Claudia was knowledgable and a hoot--thanks, Claudia! We loved visiting the nearby local cenote. The cochinita pibil meal was uniquely delicious...and those last drink items were extraordinary!❤️
