This was a real treat. It’s free to go in and we could take our dogs on their marble floor. It’s a fabulous space and the exhibition of Kurt’s own work (and the photographer upstairs) was really beautiful and atmospheric . The views of the special west Cornwall countryside from the windows were like an exhibition in themselves. An interesting contrast to the rest of St Just where it is located. I like both. I had been wanting to go for ages but opening days were quite complicated over the Christmas and January period so do check carefully online. Glad I made it.

As a fan of Kurt Jackson's work, I was keen to see his gallery. His work is displayed in a wonderful light, spacious building with lovely views in the small village of St Just.
A perfect venue to showcase the talents of this artist as the paintings radiate colour, light and the textures of Cornwall.

Really enjoyed being able to finally see Kurt Jackson's work up close. Really interesting exhibition although i have to say i am a seascape girl at heart.

This modern gallery is located in North Row just off the main road in the village of St Just.
There were two exhibitions of Kurt Jackson’s work on show during our visit.
The first was Mermaids’ Tears which were a series of paintings exemplifying the effect of plastic waste in the sea.
The second was Clay Country containing works relating to clay extraction in Cornwall.
The third exhibition was Sally Baldwin’s Fragile Earth. The exhibits were comprised of recycled materials.
We spent an hour or so browsing the interesting work and it was most thought provoking.
Admission is free.

The works are currently themed around mining, quarry and the "extractive" industry in general. Large bold works hang off the walls in this very large and light space set back just of the main high street in St Just.
Well worth a visit, with a smaller gallery up stairs.

A trip to the Jackson Foundation Gallery was an absolute must during our week in Cornwall. After seeing Kurt Jackson talking with Rick Stein on TV in the Kenidjak valley and creating his work on the beach, we attended the Biodiversity Exhibition in Bath a year ago. His work is stunningly beautiful and inspiring.
We were not disappointed with the Gallery- a beautiful light space to enhance the works.
Would highly recommend.

An unexpected surprise to find this very good gallery down a side street in the town. interesting works to admire. Well worth a visit.

My visit in September 2021 was a bit of a pilgrimage on behalf of me and my cousin as we are both big fans of Kurt Jackson’s work and also his ethos of bringing environmental issues to his audience.
I wasn’t disappointed, his work sparkles with intense colour and texture, and no-one captures light in quite the way he does.
The space itself is perfect for viewing the paintings at a distance and close up and there’s plenty of room for quite a few people to visit without getting too close to one another. It’s light and airy. For those of us too poor to afford an original (!) there is a good selection of books, catalogues, prints and cards to browse and buy.
All of this is free to enter, and ……it’s dog friendly! Massive bonus for us, as we have two labradors and I so enjoyed being able to bring our furry family members to an art exhibition. A great experience all round for us. Thank you Kurt!
