We had an awesome day with Chris. He picked us up at our hotel in Sydney in his Land Cruiser and drove about two hours out of town to some bumpy dirt roads. Once we got to the Glow Worm Tunnel Trailhead, he brewed us some coffee and offered snacks. We hiked down the old railroad trail to the glowworm tunnel. Chris knew the best places to find them and they put on a great bioluminescent show. At the end of the tunnel was a beautiful pre-historic looking valley to explore. We hiked back through the tunnel to the truck, and then Chris took us 4-wheeling. Chris was excellent at navigating the rough and rugged terrain and rock crawling as he drove us to the Lost City. We ate lunch there as we marveled at the ancient volcanic vents and then Chris took us back to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this fun, private adventure.

Chris is a fantastic guide. He really loves showing people around, extremely knowledgeable, and very funny. He will keep you entertained as well as make you learn the history of the blue mountains. The highlights of the tour include going to places away from the crowds, breathtaking views, superb hikes and lunch from restaurant that makes fantastic lentil pumpkin pies.

We were a bit nervous about the success of the trip with the rain, but everything was excellent. Chris showed us a great day in the Blue Mountains. If you are thinking about getting out and seeing this area, do it with Chris. The 4WD is serious and we went through a couple of places that needed it. We discovered a new view point to see Bridalveil Falls without a person around. We hiked to waterfalls (so be prepared for that) and all along the way Chris pointed out things that we would have just walked past.
He loves what he does and it is obvious. The conversation is easy and the day went by too quickly. We couldn't stop talking about our adventure and I highly recommend Southern Cross 4WD if you want to get out and see this part of Australia.

Great day visiting the Blue Mountains with Chris our guide and driver. Took us to places off the beaten path but also maneuvered us around the busier tourist spots with ease. Had a great lunch Chris took us to a fantastic lunch spot after picking up some meat pies to go instead of staying in the busy town. Can’t imagine a better way to spend the day visiting this amazing area.

If you are going to the Blue Mountains this is the way to do it. From pickup to drop off this was an excellent day. Our first stop was John Donahue’s grave where Chris, our guide, pulled out a coffee maker, a milk frother, some cake and biscuits. This was just the first time we would see Chris’ expertise at providing a memorable experience. We spent the next 8 hours exploring the area- seeing the known highlights but more importantly many things off the beaten path. Chris has an incredible pool of knowledge about the history and science of the area and shares it in an interesting, conversational style. I can’t say enough about how great this tour was so I’ll just say that not doing this would be a big mistake.

We went to see the blue mountains with another couple in a well equipped 4wd, in a friendly environment. We saw the sites that should not be missed. These are well known to Chris. We avoided the crowds of tourists, which is not easy and we spent an unforgettable day. Thanks Chris

Chris picked us up at our hotel and from then on it was an enjoyable 5 day trip to Hunter Valley, Barrington Tops, Oxley Wild Rivers, the rain forest and the finale at Pebbly Beach which can only be reached with a 4WD at low tide. In the evenings he set up the camp and we enjoyed delicious meals and talks at the camp fire. It was Chris' mission that we would enjoy our trip so he made sure to be flexible to our wishes. A truly memorable experience.

I was an whitewater rafting outfitter in Idaho for 20 years, so I can say that's Chris is a true professional. Great knowledge of the country, a very personalized trip for the client's need. No arbitrary fixed schedule, it is your trip designed for you.
Book an extra day if you can, a week would be best. I have done a lot of travel for 45 years and can only say that this will be a memory for the rest of my life.

We spent the day with Chris who arrived early to our hotel in The Rocks....whisked us away on a grand tour of the Blue Mountains. Spent the day on various short walks to see fabulous scenery. Felt very safe in his tricked out Land Cruiser. He can dial up or down the tour based on your needs/ability....we walked over 17k steps today...Chris could have gone even further. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

We had a great time with Chris on our trip to the Blue Mountains, which included seeing the spectacular Wentworth Falls.
The scenery is amazing, the difference is who you choose to go with. Chris is very knowledgable of the area, friendly, laid back and easy to get along with . He packed in our delicious lunch on the day hike to the falls and had tea and snacks for us later that afternoon.
Five stars to a great guy and great service!
